The games aren't worth comparing, because they're vastly different in every way.
a) they are different games. different styles. but kameo is more believable in its style than lair.
b) lair tries to do too much. just dragon fights is one thing. but dragon fights to soldier fights is too much. both suffer. did you see the video? it goes from cool dragon fights to fighting little soldiers who walk in straight rows and dont fight back. the best comparison i see is lair being a sofa bed. its not a good sofa and its not a good bed. lair wont be a great flight game, and it wont be a great land game.
c) nobody compares it to kameo, they compare it to gears.

There is a lem who goes into every lair thread and says that kameo has much better textures and still has an impressive number of enemies on the screen.
So flying around on a dragon is not kiddy? Someone needs to grow upp!
Kameo was a good game. You're probably one of those kids that talk like Marcus Fenix when you play Gears of War.
Pretending to be cool and badass. You fail miserably... Go away untill you are old enough to contribute something worthwile...
hmmm dragons are "baddass" and cool huh...
just like dungeons and dragons is the epitamy of badass and cool....
*sarcasm*
and 7.1??? who cares....im fine with 1.1ringuzi
Yea, because, you know, you fly around with your dragon and throw dice at people to determine your next move.
Hey, it's all good though, i'm sure you think Kameo is cool. Hell with all the pretty colors and scary creatures you fight as an adolescent girl, it must be.
kameo is a stupid cartoony dumb game with kiddy graphics and characters. lair on the other hand has badass dragons.CrazyIvanIV
even though i have no plans on getting that game at all... your post makes me puke when you talk like that about a game you never played [kameo]. have fun flying on 'badass' dragons
This is one of the stupidest threads I've ever seen. You're comparing two games that aren't even remotely alike. Plus, I've never heard that comparison made. The only thread that's stupider is the one that's called "And my award for best story goes to...."
I started that one :-)
wow that badass dragons line sounds just like chad wardenGen007LOL, wazzat wazzat wii gots, it ain't gots no badazz flyin dragozzz thas what it anit gotz.
1.1....so you have like a mono tv and a subwoofer....anyway i know what you are trying to say. but seriously you have NO IDEA what you are missing without surround sound.. in my valuable and prescious opinion the jump from tv to hdtv visually is spectacular but no where close to as awesome as from reg tv to surround sound.. its insane especially for shooters.CrazyIvanIV
The fact that lair will have good quality sound and dragons (oh and fire!!!) doesnt mean it will be a good game...
look at some of the gameplay videos.... lair looks boring
Artstyle is entirely subjective. Personally, I loved Kameo's. I also happen to love Lair's water - but the dragons, not so much.
Kameo DOES have an impressive number of characters on screen; 12,000, to be exact. Pretty good for a rushed launch game, I'd say.

For which systems? It went from N64 to the GC to the Xbox, and then finally the 360.

Honestly, you can't say that it was a rushed title. It is like saying pdz was a rushed title, when it too also had 4 years of development with around 300 person dev team. I mean honestly, rare is one of the biggest dev teams in the world, and it was a mediocre game not because it was rushed, but because it just wasn't good.[QUOTE="blurb1324"]Artstyle is entirely subjective. Since when is 8.7 a mediocore score? :|
Was the game concept itself rushed? Heck no - as you said, it was in development for 5 years. However, how long was it in development for on the 360? It was rushed in the sense that it was made using 360 hardware in a relatively short time, just like PGR3.

Actually look at the caption under the picture (first page) it says some 3 000 for the final version.

Correct. However, the game is clearly capable of doing 12,000. Why they didn't include that in the final version, I don't know.
And in fact, the final version of the game does more than 4000 enemies on screen at one time.
whenever i see people talking good about lair. some lemming fool needs to stand up and talk about how wonderful kameo is compaired to it. seriously...stop. kameo is a stupid cartoony dumb game with kiddy graphics and characters. lair on the other hand has badass dragons. "badass" dragons roaring in uncompressed 7.1 sound. does 360 even have 7.1 sound, oh thats right...no it doesnt. nor can it accomidate to the graphical and gameplay superiority of lair. end of story. dont even argue this... kameo was stupid, it was a stupid game, Especially when compaired to lair. ahem....dragon...fire...25,000 enimies...fun...7.1 soundCrazyIvanIVdoes lair even support 7.1 surround? does any ps3 game support 7.1 for that matter?
Oblivion is all i need, forget dragons...the only dragon i know and will care about is trogdor...and i play his anthem almost everyday on hard modeLinKuei_warriori can barely play that song on medium
