Kamiya Looking at Bringing Bayonetta and Okami to 3DS

3DS keeps on getting dem games!

At the Penny Arcade Expo, Siliconera asked Kamiya if he would be interested in developing a Nintendo 3DS game, given Platinums ongoing relationship with Nintendo. Kamiya had not one, but two ideas he said hes like to work on, given the opportunity.

Given the chance, Id like to make a game based on Jeanne from Bayonetta, Kamiya replied. Something thats not as big in scale. Something thats portable, that you could play in quick sessions, where shes a history teacher and the kind of fun things that could come out of a scenario like that. 

He added, If I could get away with it, Id also like to come up with a spin-off of Okami, less focused on the grand idea of saving the world, but [rather] something focused on the smaller world of the fairy Issun.

I don't know how (or if) Bayonetta would work on the system, but Okami would be pretty brilliant on it, I gotta admit.

Just keep bringing the games, I'll keep buying them (wallet permitting).

Kamiya is such a great developer, he shouldn't waste his time on ports.

It's really depressing that a fun and original game like The Wonderful 101 doesn't sell while shitty grimdark reboots and generic shooters sell a kabillion copies.

And I would also love a remake of Okamiden for 3DS. That game was way too ambitious for the dated DS hardware.

Would definitely pick up the Bayonetta game if it happens. A side-scroller sounds nice 'cause I don't think even Kamiya could make a hack n' slash work on the 3DS.

Okami, an 8 year old PS2 game, still has the best visuals of any game ever. Ever.

It's also an amazing game in pretty much every way but, god damn, those graphics are GORGEOUS.

All the technology in the world can't make up for good art design.

Only problem is Kamiya doesn't own Okami (Capcom does) so I guess he means a spiritual successor? Similar to Kenji Inafue is doing with Megaman! :twisted:

I'm down for some new okami.. however i would wish it was a console version rather than handheld. Okami is such a great game :( only downside it's how easy it is... but that doens't water down the enjoyment.

uhmm i think deisgning a console around a tablet that's not really neccesary is pretty much the same was the kinect.... in fact Zelda Skyward sword required an extra accessory to play it.

An Okami on the 3DS, I'd go for that. Never played Okami and that style of graphics would work well in 3D.
