Key Nintendo franchise releases will be anounced at E3!

We already know that Metroid: Other M, Zelda Wii, Pikmin 3 and a new Kirby Wii game are on Nintendo's release schedule, but what else will be released?

Oh another Zelda? Another Metroid? I mean lets be honest these are good franchises, but really is anyone excited when the 100th one comes out?

STAR FOX! F-Zero would be nice too. And maybe a NPC Luigi's Mansion? But most of all I would like...

I would love to see a new F-Zero game and a new Star Fox game, as long as they don't mess them up.

A lot of people get excited about the next Call of Duty, Halo, Ratchet and Clank, etc. Good franchises have staying power.

I'd dig the next F-Zero game.

Except that Mario wasn't jumping on planets in the 8-bit and 16-bit games from the 80's and 90's. Megaman 9 and 10 are exactly like their forebears, except with new levels. Generic means that nothing new is given to a franchise, or it copies closely what another has done. Nintendo is rarely guilty of that. Many of the Mario spin-offs are quite different.

Mario spin offs usually suck. Tennis, Soccer, Party and Baseball are all "meh" titles at best, aimed at the much younger demographic. Now when it comes to core titles like Galaxy or Zelda, they never pull a punch and always put 110% into their work.

really a Pikmin 3? i did not know this. can't wait. loved Pikmin 2, but never played the first.

All I am anticipating is Pikmin 3. Nintendo can't skip out on 2 E3's! Right?

I hope the Mario Galaxy team will make another Donkey Kong game there last DK game was Jungle Beat and it was a great 2.5D platformer.

I personally hope Geist 2 N-Space is making a Wii game for Q4 2010 I hope it is Geist 2.

The planets thing is just a basic concept in SMG: it's just a means to open the door for near unlimited creativity gameplay-wise and in an artistic sense, which is why a Galaxy 2 was not illogical.

Still, I can see the need for a new Zelda and Metroid. Zelda: Twilight Princess is actually a Gamecube game that has been ported to the Wii at the last moment. It wasn't designed with Wii controls in mind, so I for one am very excited to see a new, Wii-exclusive Zelda. Besides, the N64 saw 2 Zelda games being released in a period of 2 years, and they were both among the best games ever.

As for Metroid, Other: M is very different from Prime 3, which is essentially an FPS with Zelda-like level design. Other: M is more of a third person action platformer in the spirit of Super Metroid, so while these games do belong to the same franchise, they actually differ more than two games in the same genre, Killzone and Halo for example, so I don't really see the problem as long as the series keep evolving.
