Good news for people who hating on Suicide The Justice League Unlimited. It's a disaster. Warn A Bro less likely to scam people due to them playing other games. Very sad.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League "has fallen short of our expectations", Warner Bros. Discovery has said.

Speaking during a financial call, Warner Bros. Discovery Chief Financial Officer, Gunnar Wiedenfels, admitted Rocksteady’s game hadn’t done the business the company had hoped for since going on sale on February 2 priced $70, saying it had “fallen short of our expectations.”

Warner Bros. Discovery failed to mention a sales figure for Rocksteady’s game, but did say Suicide Squad’s failure had set up the company’s games business for a “tough” year-on-year comparison. Last year, Warner Bros. Discovery released Hogwarts Legacy, which went on to become the best-selling game of 2023.

"This year, Suicide Squad, one of our key video game releases in 2024, has fallen short of our expectations since its release earlier in the quarter, setting our games business up for a tough year-over-year comp in Q1," Wiedenfels said.

Warner Bros. Discovery's comment perhaps doesn't come as much surprise, given Suicide Squad's high-profile struggles. On Steam, the live service action game peaked with 13,459 concurrent players, a figure that has fallen dramatically since launch. At the time of this article's publication, just 480 people were playing the game on Valve's platform, with a 24-hour peak of 888.

IGN's Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League review returned a 5/10. We called it "a repetitive and bland looter-shooter that, despite an engaging story, never stays fun for long enough."

There’s much we don’t know about Rocksteady’s long-term plan for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, although we do know Joker is set to appear as a playable character. IGN has reported on how a Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League player had unearthed a hidden message that looked like a strong hint at the return of Batman. Datamining has shown strong hints that Flash and Green Lantern are set to return in some form. Other playable characters suspected to be on their way include Mrs Freeze (Nora Fries), Lawless, and Deathstroke.

Shame that it came to this. Hopefully a warning to publishers wanting to manufacture service games when people don't really want to play that way. Hope the developer will be ok, and that they can respond to what the community wants and fix the game.

I'll play if it comes to Game Pass, just for story. Not spending money on game though as it just doesn't look like the kind of game I wanna log into daily for next several months like it appears WB wants the game to be. The gameplay looks uninspired and soulless, like they wanted to just mimic live service banger like Fortnite with some cartoony shooter combat, boo.

And especially not when there's lots of other games out there I have way more interest in playing, so many I can't even get to all of those.

Wokeness has nothing to do with it and the things people call woke wouldn't stop me from playing a game, since people call everything woke from as simple as having a female lead, a person of color in game, giving a gay/lesbian character, whatever.

And lets not forget, they took an additional year, and THIS is the final product. What other game took an additional year? Oh yea! Starfield🤭 What else? Oh yea!!! Halo Infinite🤭So next time you hear someone damage controlling with "it gives em more time for polishing and add new content", remind them of these three dumpster fires.

When a game looks like dogshit during their reveal, THIS is what's intended by the developer. This is what they genuinely thought was a good enough product to be released. Them delaying it won't change anything, its just an illusion of hope.

Pretty sure this has nothing to do with being "woke" though. It's just a boring, ugly, creatively bankrupt game from a genre where heavy fatigue has already set in. BG3 is "woke" as shit and has boatloads of players months after launch.

Who cares about season 1? There are better clowns anyway. Movie studios tend to overrate the lasting power of their IP.

Everyone says that there's this fatigue in the live service genre, but as Helldivers2 has proven (and really, you didn't need Helldivers 2 to see this), it has nothing to do with the fatigue, but the quality of every god damn live service title that's coming out. Every single of these shit games are built from the grounds up around a store, and not a solid gameplay foundation. And because all these GaaS titles are "developed" by suits, chances of seeing quality is like one out of one hundred. Logging in into a game three months after lauch, and know that your game will be supported with quality content even two years from now, is great, but when that support is nothing but shitty skins and low effort quests like what Destiny 2 offers, i mean f*ck me, that's not a video game, its just a store pretending to be a video game.

Second or third job that constantly requires you to log in, to grind, to do chores, to do boring samey missions.

Nobody likes a requirement, a game that makes you do things, one that forces you. Look at Diablo IV, it's not even a fun game, it's just a grind.

Right? I haven't been following this game since it looked boring, so maybe there is something there I don't know about. But from where I'm standing, this seems like Forspoken all over again. Which had absolutely nothing to do with why the game was horrible. You failed to debate the subject properly. He asked a very simple question about a specific topic most normal well adjusted people probably have no clue about.

I've informed myself and read most of the negative reviews for this game, including GameSpot's. They didn't mention anything about politics, nor that being the reason for the low score or even story. The game did bad because of poor gameplay and monetization.

The thing about Helldivers 2's service is that it runs in the background, it's not predatory or intrusive. It's there if you want it ("it" being the services, i.e. things to buy).

With essentially all other service-based games, it's incredibly in your face. "HEY LOOK AT THIS!" or "GOOD JOB! BUT YOU COULD DO BETTER WITH THIS *insert purchasable item*" Often times after booting up the game you have to look at AT LEAST one page of crap to buy before you can even get into the main menu.

Helldiver's 2 is a game with a live-service attached; others are services with games attached. The former is better than the latter.

Of course. Helldivers2 is a video game with some mtx, while the large majority (not all, tho. games like monster hunter world did the live service part pretty well, too) of live service titles are just an mtx store with some meaningless gameplay built around it, which is, in most cases, grindy chores to keep you busy for hundreds of hours. They offer no gameplay worthwhile, and people are not only them, but spend $10-20++ per mtx skin. Makes me wonder if some are just conditioned to accept this kind of garbage because ever since they got into gaming, that's all they've seen.

The demographic they wanted to attract are the kind of people that don't pay attention to anything, and just buy whatever is marketed to them. That failed because there was so much negativity surrounding this game on twitter and youtube that it ruined their plan lmao.

Just look at this if you haven't seen it before. The animation of Harley attack with her baseball bat, and the way enemies react (and lol that tree breaking looks like its straight up from the ps2 era) at 2:42 is ridiculous. How can a multi million dollars company think that this is remotely acceptable for 2023 standards? This is the live service standards for you.
