I really don't understand why it's praised so much. I owned a SNES but all I played was Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat back in the day. Sure it had blood, 'finishing moves', and combos, but it could never touch MK1, 2 or 3.
there I said it. 8)

Yes because those insanely fast moves and fluid combat were direct rip offs from Mortal Kombats stiff set of moves....You didn't even know who Fulgore was in Kev-Unreals thread so you haven't even played Killer Instinct to know anything about it.Blackbond
I played Killer Instict before, didn't like it and forgot about it. So that means I forgot about the characters as well.

Also you forgot how awesome it was. What you're saying is like Street Fighter is imitating Tekken! This topic has no point and I think both games are unique and a must have to any gamer.
Street Fighter came out way before Tekken... do you mean that the other way around? What you're saying is like Street Fighter is imitating Tekken! This topic has no point and I think both games are unique and a must have to any gamer.

Fulgore is practically the icon of Killer Instinct. He was on the SNES cartridge and practically covered both sides of the arcade cabinets of Killer Instinct I and II. If you played the game for any reasonable amount of time to say that it is garbage you would know who Fulgore is. The truth is you have either never played it, watched it being played and never played it, or probably played one match. Regardless of which an opinion about something you have never put any considerable amount of time into is a worthless opinion in my book.We could also say every 3-d fighter was based off the first Virtua Fighter. Doesn't mean other 3-d fighitng games aren't good. rexoverbey
I never said the game was bad, it just wasn't for me. As soon as I saw the blood I thought "mortal kombat", which wasn't necessarily a bad thing but I was already enjoying MK2.
This is Fulgore...
Wow that plays so much like Mortal Kombat. They are almost identical
Blackbond
Well since Brutalities weren't introduced until MK3 you have a point, but MK was one of the first to introduce the blood and 'fatalities.'
Out of all fighting games, you pick the worst 2 to compete? Socrates88
Well MK only began to get bad after MK: Trilogy (which was in a way, it's 'last stand.') But it was a great 2-D fighter back in it's prime, so great that it made me forget about the others (KI included).
Except Street Fighter.

Maybe the truth of why you don't like it is because you are probably real bad at playing it.Maybe the truth of why you don't like it is because you are probably real bad at playing it. FWWILLKILLSM
We'll see about that if KI3 makes it to the 360.

Yeah, and MK was a pale imatation of SF. There, I said it.
So you are saying a game you have never played is much worse than a game you have played? No offence but that doesnt make a very good argumentI really don't understand why it's praised so much. NO! that would completely destroy a original series. but thought, I wish there was a KI3 for the arcades when arcades was popular like back in the days.
Killer Instinct was the real deal when it came out I bought it the first day and they had great combos, finishing moves and that werewolf and the skeleton dude was funny as hell I enjoyed it though too bad the rest of you guys didnt enjoy it as much as I did and whats better than fulgores machine-gun finishing move???

Which is an infinitely better fighter by far.Killer Instict was awesome. Then rare left and all Nintendo had left was Super Smash Bros.
