and what say you to this?
Why is everyone focusing on this not being native 4K instead of the fact that this game raw renders at 1600x1800 on PS4 Pro and 3200x1800 on the OneX? That's double the resolution, a 100% higher render.
PS4 Pro: 1600x1800 (2,880,000 pixels)
OneX: 3200x1800 (5,760,000 pixels)

it was a simple question
ugh you guys are doing it again. You're using videos and benchmarks on PC using ultra settings and trying to compare them to Xbox One X like they're somewhat equal. Truth is that KF2 struggled to hold a decent framerate using console settings at 4K, while a GTX 1070 holds an average in the 50's on 4K Ultra. There's no comparison here. Xbox One X will be the stronger machine between it and the pro. Be satisfied with that and quit trying to make it something it's not.

hahaha... My posted Youtube video shows 30 to 40 fps with busy scenes.
From youtube poster
it's definitely playable in 4k but it's barely pushing 30 to 40 fps on max settings if you put 4k settings down to like medium you easily get 60fps
PS4 Pro's graphics settings from Digital Foundry
PS4 Pro has ultra setting for textures and higher settings from the PC.

"Xbox One X was a very smooth and easy platform to develop for. It took very little engineering effort to get our base Xbox One game running on the Xbox One X. It took maybe 4 hours of programming effort total." It took them 4 hours to get Xbox One level quality to run on Xbox One X.
"We did experiment with true 4k rendering, but the frame rate drop was a bit too significant." They cranked up the resolution to 4K and saw that frames took too big of a hit.
"We don’t have a specific frame rate target for XBox One X, although the game does run at higher frame rates than the base Xbox One, even at 1800p resolution." Frame rate still drops even at 1800p, but not enough that they can't live with.
"We will be using Ultra textures on Xbox One X. We are also increasing the resolution of our shadow maps and shadow draw distance.” They're only using ultra textures, which should be easy enough with the extra memory. They're also only increasing the resolution of shadow maps and shadow draw distance to an unspecified level. So actually, nowhere is it exclaimed that they're using higher PC settings. It's literally improved shadows and textures. Nothing about any other settings like AO, AF, AA, and others that can have a much bigger effect on image quality. All of which can run at 4K ultra on a GTX 1070.
Next time read the source.

@hrt_rulz01: I can't handle the sheer amount of charts and non related bs he post over and over again trying to look like he knows what he's talking about.
Now before lems get their panties in a wad it's easy to see the X1X is more powerful then the Pro, and the cows that are trying to down play that look just as dumb as Ron usually does.
that info you call non related bs is info related to the topic at hand but you just lack the comprehension to see it.

i've read it several times and i think you're decently confused at what this is stating relative to everything else about the game and its operating standards on consoles, the game on consoles operates at what is the equivalent of PC high level settings from the onset. the PlayStation 4 and the Pro both operate at these high level PC settings, for the Pro however it has a higher resolution and Ultra level textures. this is merely exclaiming that for the Xbox One X they will be using Ultra level textures, increasing the resolution of the shadow maps and shadow draw distance over that of the base Xbox One.
Why is it that every X1X thread invariably becomes a PS4 Pro thread? Ask yourself that question, lems. You are bringing up the Pro as a form of damage control in a thread whose creator thinks the Pro is a pointless, useless upgrade that should have never happened. You could at least man up and just admit that the X1X has failed to reliably reach 4k, couldn't you? Would that really hurt so much? Any lem honest enough to admit this would have my respect.

you're a cow and you created this thread to down on an Xbox console. being what you are you will invariably be counter-attacked by the people and their platform you are trying to down on. what makes it worse for you is that this game just so happens to be rendering at a 100% higher resolution than your plastic box of choice is capable of which makes the entire premise of the thread laughable

yes, but this has nothing do with it, it's true that ron should elaborate his posts more but if there's something about his posts that doesn't make any sense maybe you should ask him to explain it.
That some people don't know where to begin is understandable, but that's what you get when people go into arguments about tech stuff they don't know much about.

The premise of this thread is to show that the X1X has failed to run Killing Floor 2 at 4k reliably.......if that's laughable, well, laugh away, I suppose.
And dude. I straight up just ragged on the PS4 Pro. In fact, I don't think I've ever spoken positively about the console. I think it was a mistake. I do not think that PS4 Pro and 4k should ever be put in the same sentence together (unless it's a sentence like this). Furthermore, I truly think the Pro is a hunk-o-junk. The only way I'd ever buy it is if my OG PS4 broke, and there was a sale. A really good sale. Show me the cow that would say such things. Go ahead. I'll sit here with my cream cheese and crackers and wait.

okay and it has failed to run a 60FPS targeted game at 4K, if it were 30 it would not be a problem obviously. you're being contextually inept by what i can tell is purposefully surrounding the framerate here to dog on the system. if you threw out a fair example i could be on board and agree with you but the issue here is not with this console, it's that you're flooding forum channels with false expectations that there was no reason to think it could handle in the first place.
For GTX 1070 with Ultra settings
1440p yields 60 to 70 fps.
2160p yields 30 to 40 fps.
For GTX 1070 with High settings
2160p yields ~+60 fps without NPCs.
@endofaugust: Come on, dude. We've established the X1X has failed in the 4k department with this game. Done with. Now, show me that cow I requested. I'm running out of crackers.

i'm not interested in your goalpost moving and trying to divert attention away from this. who expected demanding games to render at 60FPS at 4K on this system with the exception of minute instances? no one, so what are you trying to accomplish with a thread like this? looking at this game rendering the way it is i can't help but just think "seems about right". it's not a 30FPS title, you're setting up false flags of failure for something that is supposed to be a rare occurence to begin with. the resolution is not the problem, the resolution coupled with that framerate is.
@ronvalencia: and do you think the X1X version will be better framerate-wise with a non-RYZEN CPU? Lol try again Ron, you're still clueless.
By the way I'm not trying to "convince" you that the 1070 is a robust 4k machine, I'm showing you that it is not equivalent to the X1X like any mentally sane person already knows. That is your ridiculous claim that had been debunked over and over with actual evidence while you're clinging to an outdated DF claim and to marketing from one developer to keep spouting that crap.
@endofaugust: I think you're conveniently displacing the fact that KF2 has reported frame rate drops even at 1800p on the X1X. Kiiinda renders everything you're saying pointless. Just kinda.
@endofaugust: I think you're conveniently displacing the fact that KF2 has reported frame rate drops even at 1800p on the X1X. Kiiinda renders everything you're saying pointless. Just kinda.
they didn't report framerate drops, they stated that they had no fixed framerate and that it was rendering higher framerates than the Xbox One even at 3200x1800. what's more is the game had only 4 hours of work done to it. what this likely means is that the game on the base Xbox One is 1600x900, they have quadrupled that resolution with higher level textures and shadow features and were still able to attain a higher framerate. you have to remember that the GPU in terms of floating point is 4.5x more powerful than the Xbox One GPU so they have enough headroom for additional performance and settings above that 4x increase in resolution.
@ronvalencia: and do you think the X1X version will be better framerate-wise with a non-RYZEN CPU?
At higher resolution, there's higher instances for GPU bound when compared to CPU bound incidents.

@commander: "yes, but this has nothing do with it, it's true that ron should elaborate his posts more but if there's something about his posts that doesn't make any sense maybe you should ask him to explain it."
That would work if Ron actually understood English well enough which he doesn't. 80% of the time he responds with something slightly related to the subject but that actually goes on a tangent. It makes a logical conversation with him almost impossible. Maybe he assumes people can read his mind and follow his mental detours. That's why people compare him with a bot, a lot of the logic that goes from one statement to the next is missing. It's like he only reacts to keywords and he doesn't really analyse the meaning of the sentences.
@ronvalencia: being clueless it's not about personality. That's just you being wrong like usual.
Also again you respond with something completely unrelated to the actual point: the X1X is not equivalent to the 1070 like you have endlessly claimed.
@ronvalencia: 4K/60fps average is not good enough. A solid 60fps is what matters.
Ermmm, there's a reason for my GTX 1080 Ti setup...

You haven't debunked anything since there's only two information sources for X1X's GPU being GTX 1070 range. Try again. Pickanimal is still clueless.
@endofaugust: "who expected demanding games to render at 60FPS at 4K on this system with the exception of minute instances? no one, so what are you trying to accomplish with a thread like this?"
Actually lemmings (and MS in a way) have been claiming for over a year that the X1X will be a "True4k" machine, that it will render "a majority of games" in 4k, comparing it to high end PCs with GPUs like GTX1080 or 1070, claiming how the CPU would be so much better than the Jaguar in the Pro, making fun of the Pro because of using dynamic techniques and checkerboarding, etc etc so a thread like this is just standard lemming ownage that was long due and they set the table for it. Now they are crying because they have to eat it but lemmings always whine when their ridiculous claims come back to own them.
@ronvalencia: "since there's only two information sources for X1X's GPU being GTX 1070 range."
Oh you mean the DF one? made months before the actual specs of the X1X were shown, based on a demo running on a dev kit and that they have now never again mentioned every since they know the specs and have run actual tests themselves which lowered their claims to something more reasonable? Yeah those are the types of "evidence" you're clinging to while there are like 20 instances where it's evident the X1X won't be like a 1070 already including if you think about it using logic and rationaly.

i completely understand what you're saying but honestly that seems pretty caricaturized with a lot of liberty taken and not verbatim speak. we're talking about a 60FPS title here, something that in every way is a very minority appearing instance on consoles in general. expecting something like this to be in 4K in and of itself is a long shot, now 4K itself on this system is not a longshot at 30FPS. someone saying a majority of games could render at native 4K on this system at 30FPS is a very realistic assertion to make.
@ronvalencia: being clueless it's not about personality. That's just you being wrong like usual.

Are we even sure this will render at 60fps on the X1X? The dev didn't even say that, he claimed they don't have a target yet. I wouldn't be making claims that 60fps is what it's going to be just yet even at lower than native 4k rendering.
"now 4K itself on this system is not a longshot at 30FPS"
Native 4k? we shall see but I doubt it still.

it's not going to be a 30FPS render, and if it's "unlocked" as people so foolishly say it still has a 60FPS cap. given that they're getting better framerates than the Xbox One which has a slightly more powerful CPU than the PlayStation 4 bodes decently well for it to be at or close to a 60FPS target render.
@ronvalencia: "Unlike you, I didn't post youtube video without a frame rate counter and attempted pass it as counter proof."
That's because you are incapable of reading the english language and understanding it like a human being. Go back and read, I never claimed anything about framerate, my only claim was about resolution. Please take english lessons and not just chart reading manuals for a change.
Also we have already proof of how clueless you are by quoting you the 100 times you claimed the X1X would have a Ryzen CPU. You're considered a joke here already.
@endofaugust: I think you're conveniently displacing the fact that KF2 has reported frame rate drops even at 1800p on the X1X. Kiiinda renders everything you're saying pointless. Just kinda.

If a game has "frame rates", with an "s" on the end, it means it dips. "Rendering at higher frame rates" more than implies that the frame rate is unstable at 1800p on the X1X. It confirms it. But fair enough. Just wait until the game releases. DF tests will prove frame drops at 1800p. Guaranteed.
Anyway. The game fails to run at 4k on the X1X at an acceptable rate of performance. This is from the dev themselves, and this is the point of this thread. Everything you are throwing out there is an attempt to pull away from this very simple point. Saying things like "what this likely means" is beyond pointless. The game cannot be reliably run on the X1X at 4k. Bottom line.
You know what else is pointless? You coming around when you've already been shown the door. It is only going to result in you being shown the door once again.
Example for low CPU usage (~30 percent) with high RX-480 (~95 percent, 256 GB/s BW) usage and 1440p resolution (3.6M pixels) .
Above example is known as GPU bound instead of CPU bound.
I plan rebuild my i7-4970K + Hawaii XT at 5.9 TFLOPS based PC rig just for you. i7-4970K is needed for single thread from AMD DX11 driver and DirecX11 API overheads.
Youtube video shows 1080p having slightly higher CPU usage over 1440p. Resolution function is mostly from the GPU side.
The best use for high end PC CPU with GTX 1080 Ti is +144 fps at 1080p/1440p resolution. At 4K, my Intel CPUs are wasted.
You're cluelesss yet again.

Also we have already proof of how clueless you are by quoting you the 100 times you claimed the X1X would have a Ryzen CPU. You're considered a joke here already.
That's quoting AMD's PR and I even went against it with Excavator alternatives.
Your argument is again about personalities not about system wars.
@endofaugust: I think you're conveniently displacing the fact that KF2 has reported frame rate drops even at 1800p on the X1X. Kiiinda renders everything you're saying pointless. Just kinda.
they didn't report framerate drops, they stated that they had no fixed framerate and that it was rendering higher framerates than the Xbox One even at 3200x1800. what's more is the game had only 4 hours of work done to it. what this likely means is that the game on the base Xbox One is 1600x900, they have quadrupled that resolution with higher level textures and shadow features and were still able to attain a higher framerate. you have to remember that the GPU in terms of floating point is 4.5x more powerful than the Xbox One GPU so they have enough headroom for additional performance and settings above that 4x increase in resolution.

you can't show me the door when you're the only human on this website who would have expected a game like this with framerates like that to run at native 4K. this is a false narrative, this is the definition of one, not based upon things that real people actually think but rather one you're creating to allude to the perception that this system should be doing things such as the above that it's obviously not capable of. it's as preposterous as putting out the false inference that something like Gears of War 4 should be able to render at 4K 60FPS but when it clearly can't you attack the system, how ignorant of hardware are you to actually try and perpetuate something so foolish?
"this game can't render at 4K and 120FPS, what a failure!", that's about as uninformed and ignorant as what you're trying to do here. realistically you should be amazed or impressed considering this system is somehow rendering a 100% higher resolution when its GPU is on paper only 43% of a surplus over the PS4 Pro's.

Lol why are you using the RX-480 now coward? Trying to fliflop your GTX 1070 claims now?
Here it is the game on a 1070, 4k at 60 fps. Again we have established the only clueless clown here is you. Man up and face your claims of X1X being equivalent to a GTX1070, don't be a coward Ron.

Well those ridiculous claims were done by lemmings like Ron here who kept claiming the X1X was equivalent to a GTX 1070 which, if so, then 4k and around 60fps should have been expected. So yeah lemmings like Ron are the ones who should eat crow now.

Never did I say I expected this game to run at native 4k on the X1X.
Never have I said I expect any game to run at native 4k on the X1X, with or without 60 fps.
Never have I said I expect anything for the X1X performance-wise. I have only shown that the label of "true 4k" is ridiculous given the evidence so far.
And, never have I shown you the door. I wouldn't do that. But those with that power would. And they have. And they will again.
Mmmwa.
This thread is awesome.
KF2 is a fun game.
Consolites expecting "true" 4k for $500 or less (unless it's a racing game running at 120 mph/193 kmh) while believing either manufacturers' hype need to be cut off from their kool-aid refills.
PC gamers told you guys this wouldn't happen and were once again proven right.
Discrete GPU > APU.
Always and forever.

well i think i clarified humans and you've designated ron as a robot, so what i'm saying remains intact
Lemmings are just pathetic. They release the XXX a year late 100 dollars more and it still can't hit 4k. I think Sony has successfully snag Microsoft in its trap. Its up too Microsoft NOT Sony to provide 4k content. I mean, "its the most powerful console ever" yet it still performs like a Pro. GOOD LUCK LOSERS!!!
