People will realize once the game is shown that we Cows were right all along...Killzone getting the proper treatment is a recipe for AAA!IMHO I would would wait until we know more about the game other than vague promises and a CGI trailer before making a thread like this.

how can you ask us to predict a damn score for a game we haven't seen yet? not a damn second of real-time gameplay footage has surfaced. what are we to base our opinions on? We don't even have a PICTURE :|Dreams-Visions
Jeez so negative. the first one was so amazingly a 10 the 2nd cant be worse..Â
I LOL'd at "floppy pankakes". ^_^
I donno, it really could go both ways. All the lems say 6.9, but who says a game can't change? I donno...
But the CGI trailer was ridiculous. I'll say floppy pankakes. If it is indeed not a flop, there will be major ownage in SW... but it goes both ways.Â
1st one didnt do to well so its hard to give them the benefit of the doubt. hard to say cause sony ended up supporting guerrilla financially and how they had 120 devs supposedly to work on it for kz2. imo i dont think kz2 will do well cause of kz1 and its suspicious how their keeping kz2 hush hush instead of bragging it to the world to show how the ps3 is "superior" console. earlier some1 mentioned that guerrilla were the same ppl that brought shellshock nam so that makes me doubt them even more. i guess we have to wait and see how well kz2 does. never know they can blow us away with AAA game if they do its a win-win situation for gamers and guerrilla.

Actually, there were only 40 devs working on Nam/Killzone. They were also gaining experience and improving with each title and went on to make KZ:L. They went from Nam - 5.4, to KZ - 6.9, to KZ:L - 8.3, improving in storyline, gameplay, and overall optimization with each game (debugging, getting rid of glitches, etc.). They were very inexperienced at first, as most new dev teams are. However, 5.4 > 6.9 > 8.3 is a nice trend, and in the GS review for KZ:L they said they would've rated it even higher if only it had had network play.
It wasn't until AFTER Sony bought Guerilla (a little less then a year before KZ:L was released) and put them to work on KZ2 that they gave them a massive budget and bumped the size of the team up to ~130 devs (actually, it only got up to 130 recently, but had been gradually building up to that point for a while now). The money and manpower that Sony has supplied Guerilla with makes them a whole new dev team, and considering that Sony 1st party games are always excellent, I have high hopes for this game. The budget for the game had surpassed $20 mil. as far back as January, so it's even larger now.
I think KZ 2 will at least get AA.
I think people should give devs that have obviously not worked on too many games before the benefit of the doubt. The only game Ninja Theory (formerly known as Just Add Monsters, who are now working on Heavenly Sword) have made so far was Kung Fu Chaos, an Xbox game that got a 6.5 here at GS.Â
People hype HS like crazy, and it looks absolutely stunning, so why can't Guerilla do something similar? Was KZ:L not proof enough that they can make a great game?
If Killzone 2 was going to be anything special and release this year we would have some real info on it. But after that CGI trailer I don't have high hopes for it, because if you're desparate enough to use CGI and call it gameplay to pimp your game its in trouble. pundogEvery ps3 game at e3 2005 was CGI. FFXIII, Tekken 6, Uncharted, Motorstorm, every single one.

Thats my point, using CGI and claiming it as gameplay shows how little faith Sony has either in the games or in the system (or a combinatio of the two).

HS looks good but I'm not to sure about Uncharted, there are some downright ugly pics of that game out there. And for your point about the HS developers, the difference is Killzone has already made a name for itself by sucking. If only KZ liberation had been released then KZ2 (which would then be KZ1) would definitely be hyped as AA-AAA, but it has a legacy of being the sequel to one of last gens biggest flops. I bet if a) more people knew the HS developers history and b) HS wasn't a new IP then it wouldn't be hyped as much as it is now. The developer basically has complete annonymity, no one knows who they are or what they've done so they get the benefit of the doubt.

Big budget game, 130 developers and yet you predict AA...?Well, I am not afraid. This game will reach high AAA score.
How is this game being hyped AAA? It could be very good and it could be very ordinary. What do we know about Killzone 2 now that we didn't know when that infamous trailer was released? Gameplay videos, multiplayer information, online co-op or anything along those lines?strudel420
Here's all we know...it has destructable enviroments.
They're is a very heavy focus on multiplayer.
Elements of it surpass the CGI trailer.
Killzone 2 was NOT shown at GDC...a game demo using EDGE technology was...but it was using Killzone as an example not the actual Killzone 2 engine.

so we know little to nothing ;)
Well considering a game requires hype to flop and you are pretty much the sole provider of said hype I don't think it officially is capable of flopping.Runningflame570lol true...there was alot of early hype but its almost non existant now but NGN is keeping the hope alive

i just hope the chaos and emotion will be the same as in the trailerÂ

Not even worth a thread. Guerilla have only ever made the 6.9 flopper and Shellshock games. Incredible waste of bandwidth for massive cow damage.braydee1234
as someone has already said they went from
5.4 > 6.9 > 8.4
I know they will hit the 9 mark with all the new resources being allocated to them.
Â
Plus the utter chaos and confusion of warfare that game is going to bring will be AMAZING!
For an AAA game, progression is very rarely the key. Most studios either have it or they dont. Either their first game is a huge success or all of a sudden they hit the sweet spot. eg Bungie went from Oni which was 7.1 and 6.9 to Halo:CE which was 9.7
Having said that, Bungie are a different kettle of fish, they made the iconic Marathon games which were outstanding. Guerilla have made average games, and without some incredible new talent or a huge cash injection the likes of which video games have never seen, this won't get AAA.Â

I doubt it. I can't think of a single game that truly created true confusion like what KZ2 is supposed to have. The BIA series and GeoW had a couple of good moments and I think GRAW 1&2 and R6:V might have had a couple of moments too but I can't think of one game that pulled it off. So to expect a developer like Geurilla to do it is a little unrealistic.[QUOTE="NextGenNow"]plus the utter chaos and confusion of warfare that game is going to bring will be AMAZING!danneswegman

They wouldnt have made the trailer like that if they werent intending for the game to be like that...even wih cgi developers convey what they want Look at motorstorm...what you saw in the trailer is pretty much what you got in the game minus a few stellar details that were cgi.[QUOTE="braydee1234"]Not even worth a thread.
