Killzone 2 and Gears of War 2. They're on the same level graphically.

People need to stop comparing them on that level and compare them in terms of gameplay and storyline. We know Gears is gonna have tight, solid gameplay. As for Killzone 2, we haven't seen enough of it to really judge if you ask me, Gears beats it in that department.. The Gears story was pathetic, and looking at vids out right now, I doubt the second one will be any better. Not to mention how freaking terrible the VA's are. Killzone's wasn't too bad, although it didn't have strong voice actors either.

I'm really wanting to see what they bring to the table in terms of bosses. So far Gear's Brumaks look kinda lame, and Killzone hasn't showed anything from their game. All in all, I think it's too early to judge the games. Specially KZ2, things not coming out until Feburary.

as far as i'm concerned they both excel in different areas:

with gears it's textures (obviously) and design.

with KZ2 it's lighting and animations.

it depends which you prefer, although of course your fanoby goggles might fog your judgement a bit ;)

I think Killzone 2's technology is ahead of UT3.5, Animations and lighting for KZ2 is second to none.ChrnoTrigger

I'll give Killzone 2 that. It's lighting system is awesome and I do love how Helghast flail around as you pump bullets into them.

KZ2 looks better than GeoW to you probably because of it's great use of motion blur and lighting.Which IMO, Guerilla does do a better job of implementing. But to say it looks better by a long shot? IGN gave it to Gears of War 2. At this point it's all opinion til the games come out.

it depends... both will be different.. do you want large scale matches think they said 32 players clarify if im wrong and realistic shooting and health well there you go killzone 2 and the m4.

do you want horde or 6 on 6 type of deal where it takes a chainsaw to kill you and the sci fi taste.. two games for two crowds

It's pretty simple.

You just look at videos of them both and say to yourself, "Which one do I think looks better?"

Killzone 2 looks almost like a movie.

Animations add a whole new level of realism.

Lighting and blur effects add as well.

I believe that Killzone will be better in the graphics and multiplayer componenets.
