Killzone 2 Delay until Feb 2009=BRILLIANT move by Sony!!

Think about it.. We are talking about Feburary, the SLOWEST month in gaming of the year!! NO other consoles will be releasing anything as huge as Killzone 2, Just like sony started this year off with a HUGE bang by winning the console war they are going to start 2009 off with a HUGE bang with Killzone 2! Just think, MS nor Nintendo have anything huge planned (unless they announce something at E3) for the begigining of next year, Killzone 2 coming out in february will guarantee the PS3 outselling the 360 even more months until the summer of 2009 or until atleast 360's next big game comes out!! I thought it was a brilliant move for MGS4 to be released in the Summer when no other console was releasing anything big because the PS3 will surely be outselling the 360 now quite possibly until NOV when Gears 2 hits!

Just remember, the PS3 has been either outselling or selling neck in neck with MS for the past few months with just the Crappy 40 GB model, with NO 80 GB model for the last few months.. Oh and for those that say killzone 2 will flop just because the first one did, well if MGS4 has taught us anything its that ANYTHING can happen.. I remember when a majority of people thought it would be impossible for MGS4 to get anything higher than a 9.0 here, well we all saw how that turned out!

2008 = GTA4, MGS4, SOCOM, Resistance 2, LBP

2009= KZ2, RE5, GT5, GoW3, FFXIII :shock:

You might be right.. But the fact remains is PS3/360 gamers want games that are action packed, great multiplayer and FPS they dont care if its not exactly "fresh" or innovative.. Great examples are Resistance 2, Gears,COD4 and Halo 3.. NONE of those games bring anything to the table but they are such great sellers because thats what gamers want.. your typical 360 gamer wont really care about infinite undiscovery, look how poorly Ninja Gaiden 2 is doing

Was moving it strategy on Sony's part or was it because the game isn't done? Depends how you want to spin it I guess.

Here is how i think 09 should go down.. Killzone 2 in February, Gran Turismo 5 in say June, Infamous end of July, Final Fantasy XIII in September and God Of War 3 in Mid November.. If they could pull that off. I guarantee that not only would PS3 surpass 360 but it would also start outselling the Wii!!

Brawl came out in March, while No More Heroes came out in January. You are right on Lost Odyssey, though. Brawl and No More Heroes were originally supposed to come out in February, though.

I don't see what's so special about Killzone 2, other than the graphics looking great. People expect so much out of an unproven developer.

Hopefully they can delay FFXIII until July 2010... I mean nothing's coming out for 360 then....

i was looking forward to KZ2 this year but since ill be buying MGS4 soon i guess i can live with more waiting.

I honest to God do not care how long I have to wait, as long as the development team for Killzone 2 releases the game without bugs and glitches.

Metal gear Solid 4 took a very long time to get released, but when it was released.....it was practically perfect. They BETA tested the hell out of MGS4 to ensure a quality game.

I have very high expectations for Killzone 2 as I did have for MGS4. MGS4 more than lived up to the hype. In fact it crushed the hype about 100 times over. I want to be impressed with Killzone 2. So far I have been with the gaming videos, but if they were to release early and pull out a glitch fest game like Gears of War, then I would be very upset with spending $60 on a broken game.

Good grief. You know nothing about business. Febuary is the worst month for Retail. Period. Feb is the month where retailers slash their wrists to try to attract customers. Do you think the gaming business is any different?

Duh. This is because people spend their money at Christmas. They then get their bills in Jan. They then pay their bills in Feb.

This is one of the highest profile games Sony has...possibly the highest mass media profile game given E3 '05. Christmas is huge for retail and this industry. Everything else should move timeslots to make way for KZ2.

Feb is the worst month. Launching any other month would be better. The reason this is being delayed is because they can't get it done in time for Christmas. Don't delude yourself into thinking otherwise.

I take it you dont know the real reason why KZ2 got delayed.

I have to say thats a smart move and a bad one at the same time.

Good move:

Most people of course are gonna be busy playing Rfom 2 and Socom (ps3 wise)

Bad move:

Previous games that where delayed by sony turned out awefull (Haze and Heavenly Sword) while the only game that did awesome after getting delayed/pushed back was MGS4 (worth the wait).

Heck yeah, thats AWESOME news! Its great when games get delayed for years. Maybe if Sony sheeple are lucky, they will delay it until 2012, so those extras years will put into making it great, and extending then life of the PS3! They should delay all the games so we can JUST WAIT for everything! 360 only has had a bunch of good games back at launch, now, will have more to come and excellent onlince service, but PS3 has BLU RAY! AND we get to wait for years for games, and talk about how one day PS3 will start to blow 360 out of the water (like it was supposed to upon launch), but you have to just WAIT for a little, I mean long while..

Get one excellent game (if you're into MGS series), and the Sony sheeple go crazy

I predict Killzone 2 will get an 8.0 and 8.5 at best. I could be wrong though, but I just like to keep my expectations low. Putting insanely high expectations on games does nothing but disappoint because it doesn't live up to expectations, thus being labeled as overrated and/or garbage.

OMG!!! I never expected that at all..."sarcasim"...This game , along with MGS4, and GT5 have been talked about and pushed back and pushed back so many times its pathetic...REally...All these games have been talked about and hyped for 5 years...REALLY...I have a magazine with all these screen shots from these games from 5 freakin years ago!!!...When will it stop!
