Killzone 2 doesn't do anything new

the way i see it and my opinion on the game

the only thing that people are talking about is the graphics. surely gameplay matters as well. and the guy who made a thread yesterday who beat the game said it isnt exactly a masterpiece. all the threads about how its the best looking game just show how many graphic whores there are.

There aren't much room for innovation in FPS genre anymore. Everything has been done allready. If you want innovation, look elsewhere.

And gameplay >>> graphics. One reason why Halo 3 is still pure gold.

the way i see it and my opinion on games...does any FPS really do anything new? I've been gaming a long long time and it seems like all FPS' are pretty much the same game I played 20 years ago. Graphics are better and sometimes you can have two guns instead of one...but seriously, it is still just run and gun.

To the fellow talking about halo3 being nothing new how about website integration forge fileshare theater, how about those players that make and play puzzle maps? how about those players that make pics in forge? how about a rank system based on trueskill, whilst the basic fundamentals of a shooter are the same halo3 has brought alot to the genre and alot of people use the game to play in a much more interesting way than a simple shooter, I.e jump maps. so whilst you are entitled to your opinion at least back it up, killzone 2 as of yet has shown very little promise a rainbow six 3 cover system seems to be its defining feature, good graphics only get you so far.sonny2dap

I honestly don't think doing something new is a requirement for a perfect score, but a typical run and gun doesn't deserve it when they are a dime a dozen.

90% of games don't do anything new, so I fail to see your point? As long as the game looks and plays great and is fun, thats all that matters. Judging from the countless previews that support this, I suspect Killzone 2 is going to be great, people just need to stop looking for exuses to hate this game, because its getting boring.Asim90

halo 3 & cod4 didn't do anything new either, a game doesn't have to do anything new to be a succes. and as far is i know(based on gameplay videos, previews and the people that played the beta) the game seems to be really great

Oh and 10 doesn't mean "perfect" anymore. They changed it to "prime" a while ago.
