Killzone 2 has the best Animations!!!

I have been seeing alot of KZ2 vs. Gears graphics comparison threads lately. Some say Gears 2 looks better and others say KZ2. IMO, I think that Gears 2 looks slightly better overall, but KZ2 looks WAY better in motion. I only own a 360 so I might be a little bit bias... However, I find that KZ2 has one of the best character animations I have seen in a videogame.

Wow, just look at how the Hellgast's body reacts to all the bullets and how he falls down after getting shot. It looks soo real!!

Cows like to think that Graphics=Animations. They don't they are a small part of the whole. The animation are all they have ..so let them have it.

Did you even read my OP? My point is that even if Gears 2 looks better graphically than KZ2, KZ2 still looks better in motion and has some insanely good animations.

I can't wait for the inevitable load-screen in the middle of a heated battle. That was an extra nice touch to the original Gears game.

I may be bias sometimes, but I am not like most blind fanboys on here who just bash the rival systems for no reason. When I see that the competition has achieved something good I try to praise it. I am just admmiting that KZ2 >>> Gears 2 in animations, but Gears 2 >>> KZ2 in overall graphics.

I said the same thing in this very thread..

Those aren't animations those are physics controlled movements, put simply; ragdolls. They look great in Killzone 2 and make sense since everybody is still wearing a lot of clothing so being hit by high calibur rounds would move you, a lot, whereas in Gears both the COGs and Locust wear heavy sets of power armour so being thrown around by bullets wouldn't be as realistic.

Actually. Its Motion capture mixed with ragdoll physics.

It looks excellent, but a couple problems with the animation.

The Helghast gets shot in the head at least twice. First one removes his helmet and the second hits exposed skull and shouldhave dropped him instantly. Instead he grabs his face and falls backwards. My other problem is that his trigger finger doesn't move at all after he drops the gun.

Other then that its great.

I'm pretty sure KZ2 looks better than Gears 2 in Sony land. But in reality, no.
