Garbage or not, it really is the most visually impressive game coming out for consoles. However Gears 2 is holding the crown until Killzone 2 does come out.

Look at all the shades of grey...and the conveniately placed red barrel at the start. The action doesn't look very satisfying. Why is no one trying to kill the main playerToriko42

Did you see the guy that was killed up on the ledge suddenly jerk back into place and then fall off in a different direction? Also when the bridge blows in the beginning was very unimpressive as well. I only watched about 3 minutes of it and turned it off because the game isn't that interesting. Sure some things look nice, but its not as graphically impressive as most tout it to be, and if you are going to praise a game like that which is mostly grey, then say Gears of War doesn't look good because of how much brown it contains, I think you might be letting your fanboy show just a bit.

Bottom line of all this, Kill Zone on the PS2 wasn't anything special, Kill Zone 2 certainly won't amount to much.

Ya know, I've only been posting on SW for about a week and in this short week I have seen more ridiculous fanboy statements from all sides of these mindless hardware worshiping camps then I have ever seen in my life.

Anyways I noticed you often rag on others for being fanboys, but I also noticed that you are one of the biggest fanboys posting here. Maybe I'm looking too deeply into this, but is this really what SW is? A bunch of obvious fanboys degrading others for being fanboys? If so whats the point in it? Is it fun to you people?

Like I said I've only been here for a week, but in that week I've only run into about 4, or 5 other posters like myself that simply enjoy games for what they are instead of being a non paid advertiser for Sony, MS, Nintendo.

Im starting to understand even a good game is considered a flop here if it is hyped by someone to be more than what the final score is. If a game "flops" then the supporters claim biased reviews, while the detractors claim ownage. Of course there is a major double standard when it comes to this and opposing sides seem to be equally pathetic.

Also I find it funny that the opinion of one reviewer at GS basically dictates what you guys will be pointlessly arguing about for months, even years to come.

Yeah I think you misunderstood my post and failed to answer my question. I like SW because different consoles and games can be discussed without mods stepping in, but the fanboy effect is quite annoying. And why sing the praises of my system when I enjoy them all?

Also exactly how many examples of you calling someone do you want to see? I didn't think you would actually try to deny it, I just figured you would give me a reason of why you do it.

I know I remember you saying "If he acts like a fanboy I will give him a fanboy response" to one poster, which was quite funny to me considering everything I see you post is a fanboy response. And also funny because you are trying to tell me that you don't throw that word around.

Oh but see you didn't follow the whle reasoning behind that, what transpired was that person and I were in another thread and he had stated that Fable 2 was a very, very average game (scored 8.5), then I see him in another thread saying how great Motorstorm was (scored 8.0), hence he was a fanboy and I was going to give him the same fanboy response he gave about Fable 2. The fact remains that once your here for awhile you will realize who the fanboys are and if they are not i will debate and talk with them normally, a fanboy I will not. I rarely call anyone a fanboy Unless I know they are, am I I would say yes i lean toward the 360, however have had many civil debates with PS3 owners (not PS3 fanboys) hopes that clears some things up for you. And by the way this is the norm in "SYSTEM WARS".

Well thats cool I guess. I have to admit I find it amusing sometimes, but sometimes its down right pathetic. Hilights of this weeks pathetic statements.

• MGS4 would cripple a high end PC
• SMG is a broken game
• MGS4 is just a over hyped movie
• Bethesda is the worst developer in the history of gaming
• Nintendo is holding back Japanese Devs
• Wii/PS3/360 will be killed by X game

Well actually there are plenty more I cant remember off the top of my head, but yeah the fact that some of these people are serious really irks me for some reason.

Gotcha. As I am new around here I cant argue with that. This place is crazy though and sometimes utterly pathetic. Never has the thought "is this guy serious?" gone through my mind so many times a day.

Ok, I'm being as nonbiased as anyone can be... the game looks great, but I dont think it's graphic king. Sure, the gun looks great, the shots look extremely satisfying, and the explosions look nice and what not... but it wont be the graphic king. It will be mentioned, among the likes of Gears and Uncharted... but at the end of the day - I dont think it will put any graphic argument to rest.

Also, I'm pretty dissapointed in what looks like pretty generic gameplay. Exploding barrels within the first 5 minutes of gameplay? C'mon. This game has dropped off my "games to look forward to" list because the game has become a side show of "graphics, graphics, graphics" and has taken waaaay too long to release, and so far from what I've seen the game seems very unoriginal.

As soon as you get off that ship or whatever that crashes in the beginning, your buddy looks you in the face and says, "TIME TO DIE!" Ok... could they used a more generic line?

Dont get me wrong, I'm not nit-picking, just justifying my reasoning behind why I think this game will be rather generic. Sure, it'll probably be "good" but it wont be Gears of War or Resistance for that matter. All of this just because Sony called CGI footage as gameplay in 2005. I guarantee if the Guerilla didnt have the pressure of graphic king on their shoulders from Sony the game would have already released and the hype machine wouldnt have affected the game too much. Instead this game has been hyped to the high skies. Now we just have to wait and see whether or not it will join the seat between Lair and Haze or nestle a snug spot beside Resistance. We'll see.

Sure, the gun looks great, the shots look extremely satisfying, and the explosions look nice and what not... but it wont be the graphic king. It will be mentioned, among the likes of Gears and Uncharted... but at the end of the day - I dont think it will put any graphic argument to rest.

Also, I'm pretty dissapointed in what looks like pretty generic gameplay. Exploding barrels within the first 5 minutes of gameplay? C'mon. This game has dropped off my "games to look forward to" list because the game has become a side show of "graphics, graphics, graphics" and has taken waaaay too long to release, and so far from what I've seen the game seems very unoriginal.

As soon as you get off that ship or whatever that crashes in the beginning, your buddy looks you in the face and says, "TIME TO DIE!" Ok... could they used a more generic line?

Dont get me wrong, I'm not nit-picking, just justifying my reasoning behind why I think this game will be rather generic. Sure, it'll probably be "good" but it wont be Gears of War or Resistance for that matter. All of this just because Sony called CGI footage as gameplay in 2005. I guarantee if the Guerilla didnt have the pressure of graphic king on their shoulders from Sony the game would have already released and the hype machine wouldnt have affected the game too much. Instead this game has been hyped to the high skies. Now we just have to wait and see whether or not it will join the seat between Lair and Haze or nestle a snug spot beside Resistance. We'll see.

I don't know I saw some real glimmers of brilliance in that 20 minutes of gameplay. The overall armosphere is already more apparent than either Gears or Resistance it's just so single minded foucused to it's overall theme. I love the commitment and small touches like the blood in your eyes when hurt and how good tht actually looked. The audio sounds top notch at very much a studio level. I just feel this is such an epic and cinematic title the like of which FPS has not seen in awhile. I do want to make sure every knows this is simply my opinion but it is how I feel.

Garbage or not, it really is the most visually impressive game coming out for consoles. However Gears 2 is holding the crown until Killzone 2 does come out.

Killzone 2's effects from explosions are too weak. They need to juice them up with the BOOM EFFECT! They make it look like a sparkler was thrown instead of a grenade or rocket launcher.
