Killzone 2 is the fastest selling first party PS3 game to date

Metal Gear Solid 4 sold 1.7 million in it's first week, Killzone 2 isn't close to that. This story is complete garbage and so is lamepro. And why people are bashing sales because game that was hype for 4 year really didn't sell like it should. PS3 fanboys where saying kz2 was going to outsell gears or halo.

That's nice, but I'm not sure it means much, still, I guess it will be interesting to see what happens with the NPDs later this month.

I'm pretty sure that MGS4 1.7 was for world wide sales, and these numbers for KZ2 are only for NA. And also yes they are just saying 1st party games by Sony.

I am going to get it sometime, just right now I don't have that much time, between class work, and getting ready for my internship over the summer, and playing Halo Wars, Star Ocean 4, and Empire: Total War. Although one problem is Cross Edge is coming out soon and that may mean I'll have to wait longer to pick up Killzone 2.

Not being funny but all that means is the other PS3 first party games sold very very badly. Cause KZ2 really didn't do all that well.

It is an excellent game with the best console graphics to date (by a slim margin). It was also developed by a huge team, with a huge budget, and a long development time.

The original article is about KZ2 being the fastest SCEA game to reach 500K units (in the US).

This is the most talked about PS3 game, with the most amount of pre-release oooh and ahhhh, dating back to E3-2005. And it is in a genre that does very well, especially in America.

So, the sales don't seem to be up to snuff compared to the investment.

Which reinforces the perception that PS3 development is time consuming, costly, and with a low probability of great financial success. Which is not very attractive to 3rd parties, and maybe helps explain why Sony have closed a number of their first party operations, cancelled games seemingly well into development, and appear to have refocused their efforts on a smaller number of titles. None of which is particularly good for gamers.
