Killzone 2 its AMAZING "LEIPZIG 07"

I'm not really that impressed by Killzone 2. Lighting and animation looks great, but the rest just seems meh to me.

Not worth a $600 investment to me. But if you already have a PS3, more power to ya.neogeo419

If anygame can be bashed for being monochromatic, it's KZ2. The video was impressive, certainly, but I can't imagine how depressing it would be to play an entire game that looks like that. I actually think that style was chosen because it hides alot of flaws. Kind of hard to notice how bad that muddy texture is when the character, enemies, and environment are all the same shade of ash grey.THETRUEDOZAH

The guy in the video said that the enviroment shown is only one out of many enviroments. He also said they are going to improve the textures overtime if i heard it right.

Killzone, simply put is a generation leap in immersive gameplay. Everything about this game screams at you. All current shooters with exception to crysis, look plain. The amount of detail in everything(even the shell casings on the groung are hollow!!!) is really what blows me away. Take your MS goggles off and witness innovation and the cell technology at work. Sony has 08 and beyond on lock.LOKI-RA

It's a pretty good looking game, though it should AT LEAST look that good for coming out in '08. Textures could improve, but I'm going to wait and see rather than blindly take their words on it. I just have mixed feelings on this game. On the one hand, it looks nice and seem to have good presentation (the weather effects and such)... but gameplay-wise it's hard to get hyped about. What are the different weapons? Different enemies? How linear is it? How do the controls feel? Is the cover-system really viable opposed to normal crouching and peeking as FPS players have been doing forever? Vehicles?

There's alot I'm wary on. Like how they talk about how adding bosses like the Heavy 'gives players options'... what options? Shoot in face, shoot in back, repeat. It's as disappointing to me as the Lurker in Gears. I guess I'm just expecting alot more since it's being compared to Halo so much. But, because it's still far off, to criticize anything shown will just cause cows to moo 'PRE-ALPHA SHUT UP' (which I'm skeptical of, but will wait and see).

I'm just worried. The fire effects look craptacular, period. Truly bad. Explosions look like balloons filled with powdered Tang popped. Maybe it is partly the god-mode, maybe all of it, or none of it... but the game doesn't look too FUN when you stop and take a few minutes to look at it closely. I just wonder if they are spending too much time working on lightning effects that they forget that people want to play a FUN SHOOTER.

Right now, Resistance looks better (relatively gameplay-wise from what we've seen) and more fun. If all this was meant to impress... it failed compared to the original in-game trailer (though, might have been because it didn't stop to show things like the repetitive and jerky A.I.). Hopefully, there's alot more depth to playing than them blathering about deferred buffering and weather effects... I get scared when dev's act excited about things gamers have been encountering forever (enemies FLANK you?! GASP SHOCK AND AWE :o ).

Anywho, right now I'm expecting it to be around Haze's and Resistance's levels at best (relatively for when each comes/came out).
