Which is better and why?

Modern Warfare 2.
I loved Killzone, it's great, but MW2 will probably suit you better, more people playing online, "smooth" controls.
Killzone 2 has heavier controls, takes a lot to get used to.
MW is just a little more engaging for me. I never cared about why I was fighting in KZ2. MW grabs me, I guess it's a little familiarity.cainetao11
You really have to play Killzone to fall in love with Killzone 2. Familiarity is a big part of it.

That a good SW response?

So you have played the two?Okay, may I ask, which one is more intense in it's action?I want a game with lots of guys on-screen at once and lots of action!!May I add also,I'm not into online gaming that much.
I've played the first 5 or 6 missions of MW2, and I have to say I'm bored. Just seems like more of the same, and all that is is a dumb heavily scripted action game. It's like a Michael Bay film. Loud, bright, pretty and macho, but ultimately unengaging and stupid.
Haven't played KZ2.
EDIT : Thought the snowmobile section was ****ing awesome though.

Not really.. I never played Killzone, and I love Killzone 2Kz2 was more of the same, also. There's a lot more to do in MW2.I've played the first 5 or 6 missions of MW2, and I have to say I'm bored. I feel bad for KZ2...its going to get snubbed in all the GOTY awards because it came out so early in the year...Same goes for other games that came out early in the year. Also, MW2 being multiplat, and thus more popular, is certainly going to help its GOTY causes.
I have not played MW2 so I can't comment on which is better. But I will say KZ2 > CoD4.
definitely mw2
even tho i really enjoyed kz2 the classing and spawning kinda annoyed me, almost everybody spawns in the same place and peolple are just waiting outside the door with rpg's

yeah, because comparing 2 AAA games MUST be insane!!!!!!
BACK OFF LEM, I got fanboy spray, and I'm not afraid to use it!!!!!!!!!
I haven't actually bought MW2 yet (I'll probably buy it this weekend), but judging from Call of Duty 4 MW1 (which I adore), I like Modern Warfare alot better. Killzone 2 is a great FPS in its own right, but it just doesn't have the thrills and setpieces that COD does. You can tell that Guerilla just doesn't have as many ideas as Infinity Ward as far as level design is concerned.
thats another thing i forgot about alot of people are gonna be leaving KZ2 MP and going to MW2 so who knows how empty KZ2 will be in a couple weeks
They reduced the input lag, in single player. Multiplayer there was always less input lag. Design choices. They did add a optional 'precise aim' thing though to make it more sensitive...but it really isn't too much like CoD4. Shooting ppl down the sights in KZ2 is reserved for distance combat. Ppl take more bullets. It has a TF2-like class system, but lets you mix/match class attributes. They are pretty different experiences online. Also, KZ2 has warzone mode which is the awesomest recent innovation in online shooters imo. You can play all the game modes in one match, it is so awesome...I don't know why other games have not copied it yet.Didn't Killzone 2 get a patch to be more Modern Warfare-like?

Hang on there buddy. SolidTY is faaaaar from being a lem. A cow, maybe...but definately not a lem.[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]I heard that it is just a flashy rehash. From the looks of Modern Warfare 2, I will have to go with Killzone 2. But I am still looking forward to renting MW2 though.I just rented MW2 and the first 2 hours are better than the entirety of KZ2.

I'm one of the biggest MW2, IW, and Activision bashers here. I rented it because I won't support Acitvision. My honest and experienced opinion is truth.
MW2 is a far superior shooter with better setpieces.

P> Yes, because NOBODY ELSE has an opinion other than you. From a strict gameplay point of view, KZ2 destroys MW2. It also has bigger and better firefights. But MW2 has the perks and attachments so it is more personal for the player since they can fully customize their class. Graphically, KZ2 is better than MW2 (MW2 is rendered at 600p). It's a moot point though, as both games aren't that great anyway.

I bet it is a flashy rehash. That doesn't mean Killzone 2 is automatically better. IMO, any rehash of COD will be better than KZ2 simply because the foundation is stronger. The thing that holds Killzone 2 back from COD status is the level design. It's just not nearly as varied, not nearly as exciting and not nearly as dynamic. If not for the level design, the games would probably be on closer footing. Don't me wrong though. Killzone 2 doesn't have bad level design. It just doesn't strive to do much more than be good and functional, whereas COD aims to load up levels with thrilling setpieces.

Better is subjective so I won't argue with you. But in no way shape or form does Killzone 2 have bigger firefights. They are much more contained than COD's.

Level design is more than environments. KZ2 MP maps are some of the best laid out maps that I have ever played. And they are way better than the COD ones that I have played.[QUOTE="Trinners"]

How can you have bigger firefights in MW2 when the player cap is 18? While KZ2's player cap is 32?

You forgot the part where COD6 is da must realistic and teh most skill full game ever and it deserves a GOTY award for the next five years straight!
God am I sick of hearing about this game it's so overrated and hyped it's annoying, and I want to beat a puppy every time someone calls Call of Duty realistic. /rant.

The MP maps really didn't impress me any more than the campaign levels TBH. They maps might have worked well for MP in a technical/tactical way, but as for being exciting environments, they just didn't stun me. They just seem so lacking of detail and variation. I always get the feeling that Guerilla worked really hard on the gunplay, the enemy AI, all that good stuff, but then just kind of went at the game environments in a coldly mechanical kind of way. That's really my only beef with Killzone 2.

The MP maps in KZ2 were very detailed and were very fair too. It was genius the way that they laid out the maps. Please Log In to post.
