Killzone 2 still isn't that good

I played it and it didn't impress me. Hasen't anyone ever realized that graphics arn't everything?

I refuse to call it AAA, and i implore anyone who has played it to do the same.

Technically its a marvel.But I've got to wonder what GG were doing for almost 5 years?!!

The single player is far too short and cliche,with nothing close to what you'd call a memorable story or characters.And yes innovation isn't every thing,but would it have hurt GG to have spent some of the reported $60 million budget deveoping some new gameplay ideas? Seriously :?

Its saved from medicocrity by the MP quite frankly.

No, it's still an opinion.

Graphics aren't everything but they help... a lot. Great physics and AI help too. I think the idea for the game is cool but the writing is just awful, even worse than Gears. Even with KZ2's crappy writing and lack of originality, its still a 9 easily.

I find that it causes fasciculation when played on 42" of plasma goodness and 5.1 surround sound.

it is an opinion, and many people disagree with you. i personally find it amazing, and the graphics are just the icing on the cake. definate AAA IMO.

The cover system thing is debateble.There have been cover sytems in FPS's in the past,although,I suppose,not like KZ2's.

And about the MP,well as far as I can see GG cherry-picked all the best stuff from COD4 and TF2 and added a few ideas of their own.Very little genuine innovation there imo.

Cows give this game too easy a ride imo.Like HL2,this game should have moved the genre forward ,given the recouses that were thrown at it.

I don't think it's triple A either. I own it. The campaign is exciting, but nothing special. 8.5/10 there. The online is exciting, but gets old VERY quickly, as you'll realize that the deadzone on the controller is just terrible after playing for a few days and then trying CoD again. 8.0/10 there. I'd give an 8.6 or 8.7, but it's really nothing too amazing.

The more I play it, the more I tend to think that yes, it is mostly about graphics. The visual fidelity is top tier, but the gameplay mechanics and level design aren't better than what's available in other shooters.

Overall, still and excellent game and a must-have for any PS3 owner that likes shooters. But only time will tell if Killzone 2 has the legs to stand the test of time.

to rate MGS4 a 1.0 you must have no idea what you are on about. I think this thread is an extention of this.

Solid 8.0-8.5 game imo not AAA.

I thought it was really good.

The level design is good with interesting battles. The story has a twist with the enemies for once not being aliens, but mostly human, and for once, your the big invading force. Which almost makes you the evil invaders???

I love it, I love the online. I can easily call it AAA.

Its ok not to like the game, but its hard to make a real, discussion out of this thread because youve given no reason for why you dont like it. Which makes me wonder if this is just a poor attempt at flamebait...

You obviously havent even played Killzone 2, posting screenshots.... The graphics in the game are more than just textures. Its the whole effect it creates. There is so much going on. Dust in the air blowing in the wind. Amazing lighting. Particle effects.

Gears has its share of bad textures too.
