Killzone 3 review - OPM goes with 9/10

The first English Killzone 3 review has arrived via Official PlayStation Magazine UK, and it's gone with a big 9/10.

In its six-page review OPM says of the PS3 exclusive: "on a visual level, as a 3D breakthrough, this feels like a watershed moment in a revolution affecting all of gaming". Wow-ee.

For those who will be playing Killzone 3 on a 3DTV with a Move controller, OPM calls the experience "remarkable", while on gameplay terms "Black Ops is the only FPS on PS3 that can match this".

Why didn't it get a 10/10 then, we hear you ask? According to OPM the voice acting isn't perfect and the story thus lacks "emotive punch".

Earlier today, Guerrilla posted a complete overview of Killzone 3's multiplayer maps ahead of the shooter's launch next month.

I get the emote thing. Im pretty sure the characters are still pretty shallow but oh well thats prettys much true with the majority FPS games.

man, i need to break down and buy the 3d glasses that go with my tv.

I guess its sorta difficult to make a very emotive story outa a war game. Incase most people didnt notice,Call of Duty is not war,its an action game. Killzone feels more like War and thats what its all about

Half-Life's story was mediocre. Storytelling, on the other hand, was fantastic.

HL2 is still my favorite FPS. But as far as storytelling goes. FPS's are far far away from it. At least Killzone 3 is making a decent effort.

If Rico dies in it, it warrants a AAA. If YOU kill him, it's Shooter of the Year. No contest.

Wow, if a Playstation based magazine doesn't give it 10/10 there must really be something wrong with it.

im all for great review scores and good games, but consoles specific magazines/sites should never be used.

Geeeeeeez... I swear, for a game with so much backing why can't they work on good story-telling.

THis makes me mad.

No 10/10 from a Playstation Mag? Im sure the game will be of a high calibre but honestly its kind of surprising given that those Mags on all sides hand out 10's to the major exclusives like no tomorrow.alextherussian

The darkness had both an excellent story, and great story telling imo.

You sure it isnt because a whole lot of whining about the controls in K2 not being like CoD? They did patch a CoD clone control scheme in 2 but by then most of the whiners moved on.
