but whats with all the hate! because killzone had a CGI...only a brain dead freak would believe that was really..

killzone 1 was bad? so....it was badly made but people who played it will tell u it was good..(me and my mates loved it)

and the difference killzone 2 will have is no bugs or faults, with the new backing they got from Sony.

so whats wrong with people being excited about it!

Because they lied and said the CGI was real, that's why. So immediately people have no respect for the developers. I also have no respect for the developers after the damn-near two year "halo killer" campaign, only to release a game which scored a 6.9 and was widely regarded as mediocre at best. I also have no respect for the developer because they were so quick to say it was hardware limitations that brought about such a low score, yet TimeSplitters on the PS2 is awesome. Not only that, but they also made Shellshock on the xbox - a much more powerful system - and that got a 5.4 - so what's their excuse with that?

about the CGI .. they lied about the graphics, insulting (some/most) gamers' intelligence

and i'm sorry, i've played killzone and thought it was horrible .. maybe you people who like it need to start playing quality shooters to learn how FPSs should be

i've being playing FPSs for years .. goldeneye, perfect dark, halo, half-life .. those are quality

• Killzone 1 was bad? Yeah it was bad so bad that Geist 7.8 > Killzone 6.9 the Geist developers created Mary Kate and Ashley and still managed to get almost an entire point above Killzone

Killzone was hyped to hell and back, lauded as the 'halo killer'. If that isn't hype, I'd like you to tell me what is. And hardly anyone played it, just look at the sales.

By the way, I am not 'some1 who is a lemming'. I have a Dreamcast, the first two Playstations, a Gamecube, an N64, a PSP, a DS Lite, an N64, and a SNES that go along with my XBox and 360.

I already stated my reasons why I hated that game, and it was NOT because it was hyped, nor did I say I was cautious of Killzone 2 because it was being released on the PS3. Read my post better. You can give people with little talent in making games more money, but the result will ALWAYS be the same if talent is not present. Maybe the extra manpower will help, maybe it won't.

Umm, that was just Jack Tretton that said it was real. Bad move.

The first Killzone, was only their second console game I believe? Obviously a new developer in the field. Fans decided to deem Killzone a Halo Killer which was rediculous and got a lot of bad rep for the game after it flopped. It was still an average game, yes. It was still fun as well. Then, Killzone Liberation came out, was a great game, did much better than the original Killzone. Now, Guerilla Games is backed by Sony as a first party developer, and last I noticed, Sony makes some pretty damn good first party titles.

The same still applies there too, maybe they want to optimize the game b4 showing it publically.. PSM3 reported that the private showing of the trailer at GDC looked close to the trailer. I'm expecting big things from this game. It's all just a matter of time until its revealed.

Exactly, since killzone and every other console FPS has used the controles from halo and the online matchmaking system from halo 2 is awsome I think thats the big deal.

Erm, me and my mates played it when I bought it, the only thing it had going was the graphics, the story was cliche, the story modes gamplay was grind, and the multiplay sucked so badly (Compared with what we use to play TIMESPLITTERS) I played it and threw it in the corner after 2 days never to be used again.

Its just fanboyism, Killzone is the Playstations only "Exclusive" shooter, therefore its the consoles' franchise that is intended to compete with Halo.

 I mean its not just Killzone, I take stabs at Halo 3, Xbox/PS3/Wii take stabs at Crysis, Metroid Prime 3 aswell.....
