You need a good team to make a good game, not a fraction of a country. 

And the game will have faults and bugs.  Every single game ever made has it's faults.  Sony doesn't exactly make flawless products, hell, no one does.  If you think the game is going to be perfect then you are really setting yourself up for a fall.

I wasn't commenting on your opinion, only your logic. I also enjoyed the game and I even played it online for awhile, as buggy as it was. Although it is relatively unrelated, I just beat Killzone: Liberation for the PSP last week.

Why do people hate killzone?

1.- Overbearing hype for a game with no pedigree.

3.- Killzone 1. Seriously, Killzone 1.

4.- Guerrilla is one of the most overrated developers out there... and they're regarded as mediocre-to-acceptable.

5.- Killzone 1. Can't stress this one enough. It had at least as much hype as KZ2, and look where it ended up.

Oh, and don't bring the "somewhere underneath that pile of *** there was nice gameplay". Any true gamer worth his salt should learn to expect at least a competent presentation. Great geometry and effects make bad graphics if they're buggy and choppy. Great gameplay ideas make bad gameplay if they're poorly implemented or even if the controls are horrible.

Killzone was not a particularly bad game, not at all. But it comfortably rested in the nest of mediocrity, all while shouting and claiming excellence.

My opinion on the HALO series is that it has some good multiplayer which is pick up and play but the campaign just sucked balls.

Its funny I heard killzone got alot of hype but that was after I played it. SO I guess it worked because poeple actually played it.

Hype is Hype.  It can get people to buy a product.  But if the Hyped product sucks, people have good reason to start doubting the talent of the developers.  The Killzone CGI fake gameplay fiasco just adds mass to the trainwreck of a game Killzone will likely be.

Killzone 2 won't disappoint there is too many people working on the game and too much money being thrown at it for it to fail this time around.  Just wait for E3 lots will be amazed but you still have those few people bashing the game until it is released and then when its released all the people bashing it won't have a good enough reason to really bash the game.  The game may have a few flaws here and there but the game will be well liked by the ps3 fanbase which is all that matters.

Xbox dominated the fps genre last gen but it won't be the same this time around and I'm not saying that the ps3 will dominate in that area but the ps3 will definitely have its fair share of good fps games this time around.

I guess if you had never played almost any of the Xbox FPS games Killzone would look pretty good. Same theory applies with PC to Xbox.

I still like Timesplitters alot although timesplitters doesn't have a jump button it has bigger environments, and it has a shotgun which I don't think Halo does but I could be wrong about that.  Also, timesplitters has the create a map option, I really wonder why the servers are not loaded with people as they should be, sometimes there is a good amount of players on and then sometimes there isn't but what other online fps game is there for the ps2?

First of all, the devs never said that the trailer was gameplay... they did however say that it was in-game. And maybe they really believed the in-game graphics would look that good, they still didn't have final dev kits at that point.

All the same, I am pretty cautious on this title. I'm looking forward to seeing the actual gameplay this July but I would hardly hype the game before seeing it... the first one didn't suck, it just wasn't as good as they hyped it to be. Which is why I'm glad they're being more quiet this time too. Killzone on the PSP was awesome... totally different type of game but I hope this one is a high quality product as well.

Nope my cousin has the game and I have played from time to time at his place and I like the game it is without a doubt one of the better xbox games that I did play at his place.

As for everyone doubting Killzone 2's graphics I'm going to say that they have a much better shot at being what they should be like from the trailer than the graphics not being like that because all the stuff you have seen for MGS4 is all in game footage type graphics.  Thats the way its always been with the MGS games is that the cineamatics are the exact same as gameplay footage so its very possible for Killzone 2 to have top notch graphics.

The first Halo was King. The second one sucked. But Resistance is better than both of them now... so it's up to Halo 3 to try taking the crown back. It may be able to but right now I'm just as catious about Halo 3 as I am about Killzone 2. Haven't seen anything either way to crown either of them yet.

Resistance doesnt even come near Halo 2, and Halo 2 was pretty bad overall.  Halo 3 will dominate, and if you think Sony even has a chance of competing with it you are very ignorant.

I think so too but I can't see ps3 owners paying to play online if thats the way it turns out for UT3 but I don't see why it can't be free either for online play.

Well PS3 doesnt charge for PSN, only in microtransactions so probably maps will be charged for (new ones), while PC's version and PS3s should be free to play from scratch.

You're pretty ignorant on the subject if you think Halo 2 was better than Resistance! No one who has played both games could even take you seriously. R:FOM is the best FPS out at the moment but I'm not saying that any of the new titles won't steal its thunder... but at the moment there isn't a better FPS available. Like I said, I think Jericho will be the better FPS whenever it comes out... and UT3 also like another poster said.

But Halo 3 just hasn't shown anything impressive so far... maybe they will after it's tuned up some more. But hyping Halo 3 after the disaster that was Halo 2 is just as silly as hyping Killzone 2 IMO.

Yes I've played it on split screen. Everyone of my friends in college picks that freaking little monkey because he is so small and fast. The game isn't comparable to Halo by any means. Sure it has tons of weapons and tons of characters to choose from but the levels are uninspiring and there is a severe lack of vehicles. I had Time Splitters 2 for Gamecube. It was really good. I couldn't stand the game not having center aim though. That was its only fault. I own 2 for Gamecube, three people on my floor had Future Perfect on PS2 on my floor in college, but I haven't played the 1st one a lot on PS2. 

I can't decode the last part of your post, but its evident that Halo is just in a whole other league then Time Splitters unless your name is the G-Man from GUFU. He loves that game :P

I'm only mocking you because you're a Yankee Fan. Like Killzone a large Budget doesn't directly correlate to a good game. Just ask the Yankees lol. I mean look at all the money they are spending and they still suck haha. I also hate the Red Sox too.

 Yet that's the best FPS Guerrilla has come up with. Still, they had all the sony support they could've asked for... and it still sucked. 

Quite simply, Guerrilla simply isn't a particularly good developer. They bluffed their way into a purchase by Sony, and that's pretty much it about them.

killzone 1 was bad? so....it was badly made but people who played it will tell u it was good..(me and my mates loved it)

I enjoyed Killzone 1 as well. I'll be buying Killzone 2 no matter what rating it gets because I loved the first.

I'm only mocking you because you're a Yankee Fan. Like Killzone a large Budget doesn't directly correlate to a good game. Just ask the Yankees lol. I mean look at all the money they are spending and they still suck haha. I also hate the Red Sox too.

It's a marathon not a sprint in the MLB ;). Ya know, I honestly get attacked daily for being a Yankees fan. People look at me like I'm a lesser human. But I guess I'm used to it by now. Oh and btw my friend, don't make the comparison between killzone and the yankees because the yankees are the greatest sports franchise in the history of any sport ever. Steriods, payroll (I specifically like this excuse because people act like the other teams don't get paid anything), cheating etc. I love all the excuses, all the hate, all the jelousy that I get as being a yankee fan. Why? Because it let's us know that they're only hated cause they're the best! :D

 Oh and quote me, by the end of the season the yankee will have a better record than the Red Sox. I gaurentee it. ;)

What does Killzone 2 have for people to hype it?  A good first game?  No, sorry.  Killzone was bad in my opinion, which by the way counts just as much as anybody else's, thank you very much.

Um out score it every where, get more awards, more recognition, crowned champion of console FPS. Time Splitters who?

Timesplitter was a great fps game that came out on the ps2. came out sometime around 2001. Concept was cool and orginal.You get to play diff time periods for each mission and it was fun playing single or split-screen. Controls were really good for a fps game on the ps2.

To SGT_Hale: Resistance is a good game, but i dont see it being innovating. Maybe its cause i played a lot of FPS games in the past but to me it felt like another FPS just with better graphics. Even the multiplayer was meh. Nothing new. Its cool you like resistance.
