I do know that God of War 3 will win graphics of the year award if not a top nominee for it. It looks like cgi, plays as smooth as butter, and of course has the gameplay so whats not to like about it? KZ2 is not the best graphics of the year UC2 is. How ever KZ2 is no slouch and definately up with there with some of the best, and its only possible on PS3, LOL.

From a technical standpoint KZ2 is impressive...the art style and if you know the PS3 has less power than most most modern desktops if were talking specs.Its impressive.

People have diffrent thoughts tho :o i mean artstyle is important to a games visuals aswell..i think in setting Killzone 2 feels far more oppressive and the nods to Roman-esque and Germany in the 30-40's style architecture and imagery play a big role in why people think KZ2 looks good.

Alone graphics should not be judged purely based on sheer horsepower/grunt.

Look at the setting...if you ever studied art or architecture you would have come across the style of what it is in KZ2 its oppressive and very very regimentedalso the grey adds to the oppression due to the hue of its colour.

The game reeks of Fashist architectural styling.Its clearly evident.One main factor in the games "pile of brown and black".

And for the record im actually doing a Civil Engineering/Architectureunderstandingcourse outwith my HND CADD at college.So I know a fair bit in the reasoning of why the game looks as such.Colour means didley sqaut as shown in the design its meant to be OPPRESSIVE...

This is quite true actually, it seems like people only notice art styles if they're forced down their throats like Bioshock's is (not that it's a bad thing). Games like Gears of War never get talked about for art style, same as KZ2, yet that whole ruined beauty thing it has going on in certain levels is fantastic to look at. There are plenty of games were art style gets ignored though, I suppose as long as some of us appreciate it then it was worth doing.bobbetybob

Oh, my bad, I forgot to mention Gears of War. :) Sera is BEAUTIFUL and GORGEOUS. And every time I see anyone writes "Greys of War" I get really mad. Glad there are ppl who share my sentiment.

and people who Compare Crysis to Killzone2 Never play Crysis or any game on 360 to me Killizone2 looks like a Complet Blur thats because they use QSAA thats usualy ment for Car Games blur effect It takes away Sharp of the Image they shud have use MSAA like MW2

in a technical sense it takes a lot of work to get KZ2 level graphics out a PS3 which is a lot and i mean a LOT less powerful than any rig that runs Crysis.Graphics are not only judged on tehnical levels and sheer horspower a designer would know this its about how you use that power and how you make it look that makes something more pleasing to the eye.

On a technical level yes Crysis is more likely the better one but at the same time Killzone 2 deserves a lot of merit to get visuals like this on a console.People really need to step away and hiding behind Crysis 1 and comaparing it to console games if there was some stellar console port of Crysis then fair play but as we know for a fact and its been mentioned many many times PC will always have an upper hand in most departmens.

Killzone2 2005 Trailer its not in game grafics that trailer have Skin light penetracion Something that can only be done on a SUPER COMPUTER a Home PC cant even do that in Real time Not even Crysis have Skin light penetracion you have to be blind to not see that

And the 2005 Killzone 2 trailer isnt better then KZ2 release in my opinion. It is alot more detailed, but the 2005 trailer looked very drab ...

"Artstyle" = cows thinking they have beat Crysis on some level, when really ANY game could be argued on artstyle.
