Kinect 2 optional, new Xbox One price $399?

Finally it looks like  Microsoft has come to its senses concerning the DRM and always online check and I bet or should I say I'm 100% sure ;) they will announce a new price for the Xbox One.

Official announcement could be coming soon?  I'm happy for Xbox gamers but I still want a PS4. :)

MS is so dumb.  They are going out of their way to try and screw up their entire gaming division by implementing DRM (now revised) and also including Kinect.  REMOVE Kinect from the package, make it optional and you will sell a ton of systems.

I HIGHLY doubt Microsoft will drop the price to $400. If they do, my PS4 pre-order will no longer be guaranteed to last. If I sense that Microsoft has come back to the core instead of spitting out kienct game one after another I may consider their platform. But I highly doubt this happens. I just see Sony totally dominating TGS and Gamescom like they always have.

They'd actually have to do some console redesign for that from what I hear as apparently it doesn't have a power button (of course, I'm only speaking second hand on this so that could easily have been debunked).DerekLoffin

I see you're optimistic and I'ma let you finish... but.. with how EVERY feature MS is advertising with X1 is tied with Kinect you'd be almost crazy to think they'd offer it as optional. They've gone too far promoting it as a standard device/feature now.

They have many features that they have changed from what their initial plans are. There is still plenty of time for them to develop a model without kinect. You would have to be crazy if you think it hasn't already been discussed.

Actually create a deal with Gamestop right, switch your PS4 reservation over to XboxOne and get a free game of your choice, an additional controller and a free year of XboxOne. The DC over that would be epic...

The final nail in the coffin for PS4 if this is true.

The point of having something standard is that it will catch on. Now all devs know there is a large installed based and can make a game to take advantage of the hardware. I think you'll see some truly amazing games for Kinect. The new version is many times better than the first. 

It would be great. I doubt it would happen but it would be very nice.
