Check out my 3 videos and you will know what I mean. Prime examples of why the Kinect is the next level of gaming.

Sorry, if the Kinect isnt revolutionary then I dont know what is. Controller free. Full skeletal tracking. You have to applaud Microsoft for trying something new. I mean thats what weve been asking for right? I think the Kinect jokes need to stop. Its not just a PSEye ripoff. Embrace it or LEAVE THE KINECT ALONE. What do you guys think? Is this revolutionary gameplay or what?

Find me a system that can do river rafting, dodgeball, hurdling, racing, Kinectamals WITH NO CONTROLLER.

ps2eyetoy says high. There's nothing revolutionary about it they just added some things and it sure as hell isn't a step forward in gaming it's more like step backwards.

I'd hardly consider it "revolutionary".. it's certainly different, and may be the next step for a new type of control system; but in its current form, i find it useless

Well if its not your type of game then dont play it. Its more than just a rafting game. There are terrain changes and alternate paths, not just a linear river. You can jump onto platforms and collect secret items for more points. Guaranteed replay value. Also realistic water splashes on camera.

it has nothing to do if with if it's my type game or not it's the simple fact there's nothing original about it and the games MS showed are certainly not worth dropping $150 for and then another $60 dollar for the game. The kinect is justa glorified eyeyoy no matter how you try to spin it.

We all know if MS released a turd as an accesoire for the 360 you would call it the next coming in gaming.

It doesn't matter how well it captures motion, the games will suck. Eye-toy: games sucked. Wii: Games suck if you can't use a gamecube controller. I wonder what will happen with Kinect and Playstation Move games? If they're this hyped then surely they'll be worth the money! But seriously, hardware is only as good as the software that goes with it. Removing controllers alltogether will just remind people of what they're missing out on in the real world, chances are if they don't want to go skateboarding then they won't stay inside pretending they are.

He cant. Nothing else can give you river rafting, dodgeball, hurdling, racing WITHOUT CONTROLLERS. You can even change the tires of a car in a pit stop. What other system/peripheral can do that? None. Its only possible without controllers on the 360.

TC please tell me you're trolling because that is far from revolutionary. I remember doing similar stuff in the games store with Eyetoy stands. Just that I didn't look as moronic as those on the video...

Revoluntionary? strong word for a weak product. What will this give us that lets say Wii+ or Move not be able to do. Its a great idea and imo possibly the best for party games, but for actual serious games I find it extremely limited since you have limited input. From the looks of it; it doesnt have a 3D capabilites, as in you cant move forwards and backwards. Also the 360 is a old machine so things that will involve alot of physics etc will be limited by its now weak CPU etc. It is a great idea to change things, reminds me of the light gun, its great for time crysis type games but then thats about it....

I agree with TC, we've seen nothing like Kinect before. You'll be able to throw grenades and that alone is worth 150 bucks. Pushing a shoulder button is last gen.

Im serious. I dont know why everyone keeps thinking Im a troll. Nothing trollish about this thread. ;) I have not seen any console/peripheral do those kind of games with no controllers. Love it or hate it, this is something new. For the first time in history, families can actually hurdle and go river rafting IN THEIR LIVING ROOM.

You wrote "revolutionary gameplay," the gameplay is anything but. Wii ___ clones, fitness games and dance games aren't revolutionary with or without a controller anymore, because of... the Wii.

And that pitstop thing, which isn't particularly revolutionary at all, was from a prerecorded promotional video.

I lol'd, so hard. Seeming as though this is just a glorified fleshed out eye toy... I hardly see how any of it is revolutionary. Now the steam engine, THAT was revolutionary. But System Wars never seems to quite grasp just how amazing the Steam Engine is, imagine a console running on one!

you know what?I think some people can not understand technology.they just look at gears or halo as games and say "oh I wonder how you can play this kind of games with kinect?" .allright you can't play this games with kinect.well don't buy it.nobody forced you to buy kinect.if you don't like to buy it it doesn't mean that kinect is crap.that's a new way to play games, new way to enjoy, new experience with a whole new and amazing technology.and also they(kinect and move) are not going to replace controllers at all.and yes,I am a hardcore gamer witch by the way doesn't make kinect crap in my eyes.

"Astonishing isn't the word for it. Astonishing is what you'd call a chicken that can play the violin. This is something else. This is heaven. The more you use the system, the further it can tailor its algorithms to understand your intentions, and the more reliable it becomes. And yes, it works. And it does require a lot of training before you can be a serious contender in deathmatch. But I'm going to keep at it, because I've already killed scores of UT3 bots Predator-**** raining death down on their little poly heads with nothing more than a glance. Still, if I may paraphrase a famous quote, the truly remarkable thing about the NIA is not so much that it works as well as it does, but that it works at all."

Guru3D

"So here's where we land at the most innovative gadget of the year as far as I'm concerned. The NIA is one of the most original devices in a long time to make its way onto the shelves of retailers. the NIA definitely brings new functionality to the table. OCZ without doubt sparked a remarkable technological achievement here. When it works, it's a heck of a lot of fun. OCZ NIA is a very interesting product and has to be the most innovative product of this year. Once you are able to navigate through a game level with the power of your mind, it's really something else though, almost a mystical experience. The fun factor, the overall experience is grand. It's so original that it will receive an editor choice award. The idea of controlling games with brain and facial muscle power is just exhilarating, thrilling, weird and fun at the same time. That by itself makes the product pretty interesting."

you know what?I think some people can not understand technology.they just look at gears or halo as games and say "oh I wonder how you can play this kind of games with kinect?" .allright you can't play this games with kinect.well don't buy it.nobody forced you to buy kinect.if you don't like to buy it it doesn't mean that kinect is crap.that's a new way to play games, new way to enjoy, new experience with a whole new and amazing technology.and also they(kinect and move) are not going to replace controllers at all.and yes,I am a hardcore gamer witch by the way doesn't make kinect crap in my eyes.

Wait... Wuh? What is this I don't even.

He's just another Lemming brainwashed by MS into thinking Kinect is something new and revolutionary while it isn't either.

It's just a glorified eyetoy nothing more and nothing less.

I don't think anyone's saying its not revolutionary, but it still awful. Remember the Wii was codenamed Revolution and look what happened to that.

Since Wii and PS3 cant do full 3D body mapping and for multiple gamers, totally hgands free too, i guess it is something 100% new

It looks advanced but far from revolutionary. The hurdles game reminds me of something I played as a kid on the NES power pad. Alot of the other stuff reminds me of eyetoy:kinetic. It's a little more advanced, but that's about it. This thread lets me know how truly underrated and underplayed the eyetoy was.

Who says the PS3's Playstation Eye can't? Just because they didn't spend money to make skeletol tracking software for it doesn't mean they can't. Kinnect in its self isn't revolutionary, but its software is. Kinnect is just an Playstation Eye with 2 cameras with out its software, So it can tell depth better than the PSEYE but it also takes more processing power to splice both vids into a 3d image than have software track stuff. Though the truth is we don't know if the Playstation Eye could handle full body tracking anymore than we know if any programers could actually port Imfamous 2 to the 360 with keeping its quality up. Kinnect is just another webcam motioncontroller with 2 cameras instead of 1 and better software. I am not sure if that classifies as revolutionary.

Revolution in what? Eyetoy for PS2 is very similar to this. And now I think a controller is much more comfortable and thats what matters in gaming imo.
