I read that Kinect is selling quite well. I wonder, though, Kinect, at least for gaming, will be a just a fad? The only games that seem to sell on Kinect are fitness and party games played in short bursts. How many party and fitness games will people keep on buying to keep Kinect in demand. I think there simply isn't enough depth to Kinect games. That being the case, won't gamers start getting tired on Kinect real fast? I think, like the Wii in my room, Kinect will be a dust magnet in most homes after a year or two, at least when it comes to games.microgreedyHow about lets wait and see what MS has instore for Kinect in 2011 before we start shoveling dirt on it's grave! Im betting E3 2011 will be chalk full of Kinect goodness. I mean C'mon man, MS's motion sensor peripheral has been out for a whole 2 months and is selling lights out with an assortment of party type games and a few excercise games. I know there is a Mech game coming as well as a Survival Horror title, a StarWars game and Children of Eden which is made by the guys behind Rez and Lumines I believe. Heck, I think there is even a video online that shows a guy playing WoW via Kinect. I think the possibilities are almost endless of what Kinect could do in the right hands!

An unresponsive fad with no decent software support? No, thats what people WANT the make the Wii out to be because its curbstomping every other console in sales.

because it's $149-199 and that is fact. Also who is buying Wii's? How are the sales of Madden, Splinter Cell, Uncharted,Fallout NV, CoD, realistic racers(Forza, Gran Turismo) and Mass Effect on the Wii? Oh thats right, those games either blow chunks on the Wii or will never, ever show up on that under powered turd!Wii isn't a fad because it is versatile. Kinect is limited to short, active games. I just can't see how Kinect will keep offering gamers new gameplay experiences when it has so many limitations (lag, tiring to play, etc., add-on, etc.)I remember these exact same threads 5 years ago and..........5 weeks ago regarding the Wii. Wii = Fad. Is the Wii fad over with?

We should wait until titles such as Haunt, Project Draco, and Steel Battalion Heavy Armor turn out before judging Kinect's viability.

And when it still outsells the "hardcore" consoles on the market (even with their motion controllers)?
I think Kinect will do well. Sales will slow down after awhile, as they do for a lot of hardware, but I do think Kinect will extend the life of the Xbox 360. Microsoft needs to announce some new games to it and make sure the peripheral is still supported though. There's nothing worse than a peripheral that's only good for a handful of games.

For games that dont exist to sell ? Also i dont think is a fad, this thing is now famous enough to be more important than an xbox 720 would be and there are so many games coming that will definatly sell vastly better in 2011, esepcially holiday 2011 Considering i play PS3 the most and have not touched my Wii since launch, i suppose Kinect cant get worst

None existant because they quite literally are not there for purchase :|
