I've never gotten into KH but from what I hear this game has new worlds, characters and apparently is a major, and final bridge to the plot of KH3 But I'm not an expert on the IP

They're no spinoffs. i love the kh series but those games are spinoffs, games like 358/2 days and kingdom hearts recoded are unnecessary imo. more like prequels imo, especially Birth by Sleep. Hell even KH Dream Drop Distance takes place immediately after KH2.
As much as I love KH I cannot bring myself to play any of the DS titles. But I've always read up on their plots with plenty of reading and videos.Ringx55

Wow! That's exceptionally quick translation. There was a 9 month lapse for BbS, I was hopeful to get this by October, but I'm estatic to get this before my Birthday.
And to everyone complaining about 3, the team making that games is busying working on FF Versus 13. Plus there's a secret movie at the end of this game, more than likely of KH 3.

Apparently Birth By Sleep was a prequel to the first two, Chain of Memories between 1 and 2 and KH3D is taking place after 2. They're not really spinoff titles.
I'll probably get KH3D because it looks fun but the story is heavily convoluted and I don't care for it anymore.
By the time they release KH3, none will care about this franchise anymore.

KH1 and KH2 are some of my favorite games of last-gen, but I no longer care at all. It's too convoluted with all of the side-games anyways. The only way to make KH3 properly would be to negate all the stupid **** that went on in the side-games. If KH3 was announced right now, I would be mildly interested, I would wait for reviews before even considering the purchase. A few years ago I would have certainly pre-ordered on the spot.

KH3 now wouldnt make any sense especially where the story is at right now..... i honestly feel bad for the people that are not playing these "spinoffs" and will jump right into KH3 they are going to be really assed out

the wonders of google and youtube and wikipedia are a marvel, also all their doing in this series is becoming full fledge keyblade masters, honestly i was thinking since kingdom hearts 1 that sora was already a keyblade master. This "sequel" is just another reason to draw out the series even further.
Im letting my friends take care of this one for me, Ill just borrow it from them at 1 point or another. The KH games arent getting any better. Curious to see how it looks in 3D and on the 3DS in general tho.

Totally not into Kingdom Hearts anymore, but I'll be giving this a spin, especially since this is essentially Kingdom Hearts 3: Chapter One from what I understand.

yea your right, but they were about 20 hours long each(storyline). if they werent so spread out then they definately could of put two together.....

I can't keep up with KH anymore. Between iterations on PS2, GBA, DS, PSP, and I believe a mobile phone game it takes way too much time and effort to track.
