I understand that all the RPG hype right now is for Skyrim and Mass Effect 3, and they are awesome games, but Kingdoms of Amalur is equally awesome, so why hasn't it gotten more hype?
Opinions?

Really? It looks just as bad to me. I feel bad for Dark Souls for people comparing it with this.lol, game ended up being trash just like the demo portrayed it to be. Plus Dragon dogma looks 1000x better.

The nauseous amount of hand holding is a huge mark down imo.
The combat is good, but the classes are broken. You can stomp everything from start to finish as a full might character but as soon as you start fighting casters both magic and stealth builds become completely useless and ridiculously fragile.
The rest was average, nothing else in it is worth noticing.
It's a very good game in terms of mechanics and accessibility, theres also heaps of content. The only thing is the world hardly interests me
It's a great game.What fable should've been.

Eh but Fable atleast had a charming world to go with it
Too much like fable in story and looks so I played the demo just for the mass effect 3 items I got from playing through the demo.
Do you get something other than armour?Too much like fable in story and looks so I played the demo just for the mass effect 3 items I got from playing through the demo.

I have no idea, it's a very good game. I only played the demo so far but I will be picking this game up in a couple weeks for my birthday. It has a TON of content, almost on the same level as Skyrim, and a HUGE world (which is actually bigger than Skyrim). Also it's funny how elder scroll fans bash the game considering that several of the top lead designers for Morrowind worked on this game.
The Gamespot review wa defiantely underrating this game, it has great gameplay and a ton of content to be well worth your purchase! Only downside is that the storyline is kinda lame and I don't like the charecter models, they look too cartoony.
Cuz its as ugly as WoW. When art style looks like sh!t no matter what kind of gameplay it has (which is far from great btw) who cares.silversix_Stop crying about WoW. The graphics are fine, you don't like the artstyle that's fine. I understand if you're another baddie that hates because he was tired of being bad.
Because not everyone has so low standards in games
Amalur looks like an indie project throughout and is as generic as the worst MMO, it is one of the worst games in existance

I love hyperbole.
Oh wait I don't.
Unless it's changed drastically since I last played it, that game is clunky garbage. One of the worst combat systems I've experienced in a while.lol, game ended up being trash just like the demo portrayed it to be. Plus Dragon dogma looks 1000x better.

Indeed, Amalur is terrible, i wonder how people can have so low standards
The assets in Amalur is like made by an indie developer over a weekend TBH

Alright, I might have to pick this game up.KOA's stroy and NPC's are somewhat boring but the combat and exploration kick ass and it's a good alternative when you get bored with Skyrim. Dragon's Dogma's combat looks interesting but the town and environment exploration and lore look cheesy and dull from what I've seen in the trailer. The companion system also looks corny and something Crapcom will surely exploit with DLC.I guess rpg fans will splash over any game that allows you to level up and fight dragons.
Overkill on the lore and the most random names for races/people. The main baddie is named Gadflow, wth!?
My brother claimed it to be highly repetitive and had lots of filler. Kind of stopped me from playing it, although I have a huge backlog anyways.
