Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - where's the hype?

I played the demo last night and wow, I was really impressed with this game. So impressed, I preordered right when I finished the demo. I have not heard anything about this game around here. Why not? Because it's multiplat? I have a feeling this game will be epic.

Really? What didn't you like? I thought it was awesome.

I liked a lot of its concepts, but the combat felt too easy and not something that requires everything that is at your disposal... although I played on normal, and it's the beginning of the game after all.

Anyway, I'll hardly buy it, but I'll keep an eye for the reviews. That is more than I would have done before I played the demo.

That demo was pretty bad... Aside from all the glitches I came across, the demo just felt like a Fable-esque button masher with QTEs and WoW-like graphics. Story didn't seem all that interesting..

The demo sucked. Felt very plain, the intro story did absolutely nothing for me.

Things is, everything about it felt like the devs played it too "safe". They didn't take risks, it also seemed like the devs just followed the "how to make an rpg for the mainstream masses" guide. Nothing about the demo screamed original.

The demo wasnt anything good, its played just like a hack N slash. and after playing war in the north for so long, I just didnt feel like playing another one.

The demo like most have mention is pretty disappointing, didn't have the urge to play it after 10 minutes.

I enjoyed the demo.

It felt like a proper sequel to the original Fable.

But it does feel very, very safe. Which is depressing as sh!t, but I guess also expected.

It looks like a really solid game, but I'm expecting a 7.0-7.5 from Gamespot, especially if it's Kevin doing the review.

The demo didn't give me any reasons to hype the game. When I got out of the tower I didn't feel any reasons to continue playing.

I quite liked the demo.

Pretty good combat system for an action rpg, I'd say it's about as complex as Skyrim only, with more diversity at the cost of open endedness.

Might be a pretty good story in there as well.

Probably going to buy it on Steam.

I'm currently downloading the demo so we'll see.
