KOF is without any doubt my favorite figthing franchise, i love Street Fighter, DOA, Smash Bros, Guilty Gear, etc, but KOF is one of the reasons i love this genre so much, being KOF 96, 98, 2000 and XI among my favorites, seeing how regular and mediocre KOF XII turned out was such a low blow for me, i only played a couple of times, and the gameplay is incredible, i'm gonna risk to say that is better than SFIV and is kind of balanced, but what it really kills it is the lousy online game, well, after all this, onto the subject.

Do you guys believe in KOF XIII, you think it's going to be a great game, so far, in the official presentation the game looks, well, not as impressive as it KOF XII first look, but at least it has more characters, sadly the quality is not that great to see something else, so, i'm just speculating.

KOF XIII

Here is an old video from that presentation.

Will the king be back this year? will it earn another E3 award? will it finally be the KOF the fans have been waiting?

I sincerely hope it is.

BTW, characters like Mai Shiranui, and recently K' has been confirmed.

For me its always been GG > KOF > SF, so SF4 turning out awesome and KOF12 awful was pretty devestating.

They need to fix CORE issues from KOF12 to be good, the way the game zooms in and out in the middle of attacks based on how far you are away from a person alone ruins the game IMO, there were other problems, but this was a key one, also the hand drawn 2D sprites look awful up close, both problems can be solved with one solution, don't zoom in so damn much when the characters come in close, it throws off perception, and it makes the sprites look like SNES graphics.

And omg, K' confirmed? I bought SSFIV for Dudley, I'd buy KOFXIII for K'.

Yep, K' confirmed

KOF XII roster

Still no members on his team, but i can almost bet it's going to be Maxima and Whip/Kula

Sadly, it appears that no Vanessa and no Blue Mary.

Hopefully it's good. I never actually played a KoF game but I did play Capcom vs SNK 2 which I loved and it looks very similar.

I tried getting into BlazBlue, but I just couldn't get into it. I hate "three-button" fighters, never liked them at all.

IMO, KOF was never the king. Though I did enjoy their games for a while. KOF 12 did look good, my biggest problem was the character selection. IMO King of Fighters have only gotten better in the last few years. And they seemed to stick with the older characters in KOF 12. There were a good mix of newer characters, though not a lot of my favorites. There are definitely some improvements, and surprises in this character roster. If Whip is in it, I'll also be happy. But is this going to be the second game in a row with NO new characters? That's kind of unacceptable, imo. I've played with these characters 100 times. Give me some new characters.

For me, 2002-XI were the best of the KOF world. And since they were making a completely new game, why not change the look of some of the characters, or better yet, risky move, but why not take the Garou route (The best SNK fighter ever, imo) and set the game many years later, and change up some stuff so things don't get stale.

I guess my problem with KOF now, is it's more of the same. It's good, but it's nothing new.

Well, it's King of Fighters, that's why i use the name King, but i'm aware that a lot of people are more into other fighters.

Anyway, i don't really think the old cast is the part of the problem, SFIV has even more years and we are still playing with Ryu and Ken, sure, SFIV has added 7 new characters, so yeah, we need some new fresh blood, without removing the old favorites.

SNK will never take the Garou route with KOF, too many fanboys complaining about the lack of Kyo, Iori, Mai (like in KOF XII), and i would hate them if they remove Terry, on the other hand, i'm agree, Mark of the Wolves is the best SNK fighter ever.

IMO the real problem is the lack of content, KOF XI had so much, and KOF XII had so little, i mean, give me more characters, old and new (Blue Mary please, i mean, how cool would it be a team with Terry, Blue Mary and Rock Howard, and then you could have a team with Andy, Joe and Griffon), and a great online play, and i'm assure you that it would be a great game.
