Kojima Productions: The 3DS is much more powerful than the PS2.

The Kojima Productions Report discussed making MGS3DS, and they mentioned that much of the content will have to be remade, because the 3DS is a much more powerful platform. of course considering it's a wii/xbox in power lol. These first gen games it's getting look as good as anything on the gamecube. Just wait until later, when we see the real power of this beast 8) OMG My favorite franchise is getting a new game - PAPER MARIO :D

I remember people posting up screen shots of Red Steel to prove the Wii had good graphics. Then it came out and we saw what it really looked like.

I woudn't doubt this in the slightest, hell some PSP games have pushed the limits of handheld graphics near the PS2 in its prime, so why wouldn't the 3DS be far more powerfull? Chances are it's teetering near the Gamecubes threshold now. Of course these are all launch titles wait until we see what they can do once they get some time with the software.Jynxzor

the launch titles look like gamecube games at the end of it's life cycle. The 3ds is probably around the xbox or wii level.

That's nice Kojima Productions but where is by MGS4: GOTY edition or Substance or Sustinence or VR Mission SOMETHING with trophies? :(

Or your next proper console product :( (PC preferred now that I think about it lol)

Didn't we all knew this? Someone posted a comparison of the 3DS vs. PS2 version. But I guess it's now confirmed since Kojima said it.

Yeah but Red Steel was just a trailer, we have off screen gameplay videos of Metal Gear and Resident Evil running on the 3DS and these games are launch titles. Can't wait to see what the devs can pull of with the 3DS in like 3 years.

Those 2 screenshots of MGS3 for the 3DS are getting really really old, seriously. And those screenshots for the PS2 version are a beyond HORRIBLE representation of what the game actually looks like.

consoles use PC tech. Example - from the n64 to the ps3 and 360, that is 10 years of advancement in PC tech. Just because consoles are static for 5 years at a time doesn't mean they don't use the best of the best tech when they release. Minus the wii of course. I mean, it took Pc hardware 6+months to catch up with the 360 hardware.
