Wow lucky me. I just got a Psp free 2 months ago and wanna feel the MGS experience. I hope it's like Snake Eeater cause that looks like the best one.
I'm quite sure Kojima still has a secret project up his sleeve. MGS4 was made with over 200 people, now you obviously don't need that sort of staff working on a psp game. You could also say that probably the rest of those people are working on Rising, but still, kojima has been talking about something for years now.
Well, he's also working on Metal Gear Arcade and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow...I'm quite sure Kojima still has a secret project up his sleeve. Is this supposed to be some kind of solace for the PS3 losing MGS:Rising exclusivity?Toriko42Yes. It sooooo was exclusive to begin with.

Lords of Shadow is being done by some European studio with kojima as producer only. And metal gear arcade is pretty much the same thing as MGO, which the game is already there, and would require some code porting and optimization, but shouldn't be that much work.
[QUOTE="djsifer01"][QUOTE="Kokuro_Kun"]Thats too bad, sounds like a great game, i just refuse to buy a PSP. Man i hope rising is still good.princeofshapeirWhy do you refuse to buy a PSP? There full of win. Anyways both MGSR and MGSPW will be great. Most likely because the DS has more good games, which is a pretty good reason. :|
Doesn't mean you can't own both. :P

Yeah, but realistically the only thing I'd play on the PSP are Portable Ops and Peace Walker. Everything else doesn't interest me.Well, he's also working on Metal Gear Arcade and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow...[QUOTE="SakusEnvoy"]

True, but four projects is still quite a bit regardless. The Rising engine is being "remade" from scratch, and they're aiming to release Peace Walker next year, so it's going to need a lot of attention.[QUOTE="PSdual_wielder"]

Why didnt he just call it MGS5 then?
Scythes777
Probably reserving the name for the inevitable Metal Gear Solid 5. :P
There's no real need to continue the old numbering system, anyhow. The Solid Snake saga is over.
I also read in a different interview that Peace Walker is being aimed at the Japanese audience, but Rising for a Western one. Hence the emphasis on action, the multiplatform choice, etc.
In short, they're both MGS5. I think it would be wrong to dismiss Rising as a spinoff... if successful, it will probably lay the path for Metal Gear Solid's future, with or without Kojima (he has wanted to pass it on to a new generation for some time).
Im going to get it but I wish my Psp didn't have a broken UMD drive. Curse Sony and their fragile cases!!!
Its coming to the Xbox 360a lot of people are confindent that rising will be good...why again?
Ragashahs
Bu Bu Lightning bolt action is the true sequel so sneak in!!! MS fail.
Rising will be the same as the new castlevania action game with the same engine just a different setting....

I'm sure it'll be amazing but I'll get both and I'll hold them to the same level of quality I expect from Metal Gear. I don't care about MGS5, MGS this or that. I just want a great game.Toriko42The MGS fanbase is already on the Ps3 I'm not...yet Too damn expensive Its not looking at what you get. At launch, maby it was but not anymore. This isnt 2006-2007 anymore. The ps3 has the games, has come down in prize and best features out of the box.

It doesn't have backwards compatibility which is stupid for the successor to the best console of last generation. I could care less for blu-ray, I want to play my PS2 games since my PS2 is broken and I am not in the mood to replace it.

You know what, i wanted a ps3 with backwards compatibility too but didnt have the cash when they still sold the 60gb ones. Now im a happy owner of a 40gig which ive upgraded with a 250gig HDD. Because of the huge amount of quality titles this gen i havent had the time or interest to even touch my ps2 or any other console, well maby once or twice, literally but then ive just come back to my beloved ps3. BC is overrated and you could get a used ps2 dirt cheap if you truly need one. The ps3 has so many good titles that ive havent even enough time for one system.

But some models of PS3s do have backwards compatibility...

PSP's list of upcoming titles is just amazing !! :)
