It's just a matter of when. So it's semi-announced. Thoughts?

People seriously need to go buy ZOE2, its in my top 10 favourite games of all time. Theres absoloutely nothing like it this gen and despite being a last gen game, it will blow you away. Yes, graphically too.

You EU guys out there have no excuse. It went into reprint about 2 months ago so you can snag it for around 20. I got myself 2 copies for 35 (one sealed for the future) and only regret i didnt buy it when it first came out.

Lets just hope its sooner rather than later.

You mean four years after he's done with versus XIII unless he decides to do another handheld spin off that takes another three years to finish or another FInal Fantasy VII spin off.

IMO KH3 is already a WIP as of right now but just undercoverded since Square Enix wants FFXIII series to release with full steam. Once the time is right....you will see Kaz hirai & Nomura making another party at Tokyo celebrating Kingdom Hearts 3's future release ^_^

This is INCREDIBLE.

Many have no idea how AMAZING ZOE2 was, since ZOE1 was just pretty decent.

ZOE2 was so, so amazing, I cannot WAIT!

I think people would... but as far as I remember it's extremely hard to find a new copy here in the states. I had to settle for a used copy which had a couple scratches but it's nothing too serious and I got them removed using one of those disk cleaners.

You know what would be AWESOME though?! A remastered Zone of the Enders collection on the PS3. I would so totally buy it.

I'd like it on 360 too preez. Seriously i find myself wanting HD remastered version of PS2 games all the time. I'd be happy if they just rereleased some of the classics with progressive scan and wide screencompatiblility at least.

Dude, Yes! Finally!

Remember that flying scene, where you had to disable the aircraft? OH, so many great gameplay sequences!

I have a story, I bought this game for a co worker as a gift back in the day, and he rolled his eyes at me.

He was a huge GC fan back then, so he was upset it wasn't a GC game. I wanted to get him something he would NEVER forget, and remember me when he remembered the game.

Needless to say that although he hadn't turned on his PS2 in months, he played it over that Xmas break. The following year, he had nothing but PRAISE for the game, and I saw him buy it and give it as a gift to someone else at another work party a year later! (I made sure he didnt give mine away, lol.)

He works for a game studio now, but he has an impressive collection of games, and I'm just glad I was able to contribute to his amazing collection. :)

---------

EDIT :

I used to talk about this game in SW back in 2005, and I would post a few pictures, but alas, SW didn't care. Still, this seems the thread for it so here's a glimpse of SW photos I used back in 2005! :) These are all from PS2...

The one where you used that attack powerful attack you had to charge? That was pure epic. And the huge battle scene with the hundred of mech. A little frustrating but it was still amazing.

Yep, that's the one. You had to carefully land on each one, and take them out! :)

That huge Hundred mech scene was great as well, nice to see you too Vash enjoyed that fantastic game.

You know who else did, TOM Itagaki, EX Head of Team Ninja. He said in an interview that ZOE 2 inspired him in many ways!:o

In some ways thats not too surprising. THe Ninja Gaiden games have a similar visual flair to them that Zone of the Enders had. Just that Ninja Gaiden was serveral times tougher.

YES YES OH YES!!! I loved that part and pretty much everything else. My favourite being that HUGE epic battle towards the end of the game will hundreds of enemies. I dont think theres anything as fast paced and intense as that.

Do you know what scares me? I almost didnt buy this because i wasnt too crazy about ZOE1. It was a solid game but it just didnt have that umph. Prices around £50 used, i just thought na but with the reprint at such a low price, why not. The best decision of my gaming life because its so amazing. I think this is the only case where you can call this game a pure improvement, right infront of Uncharted 2. I mean theres not ONE thing ZOE1 does better, everything is improved.

I played this 2009 and holy crap was i blown away by the graphics. I dont like making comments like this but i honestly dont think theres a better looking wii game (yet).

"The following year, he had nothing but PRAISE for the game, and I saw him buy it and give it as a gift to someone else at another work party a year later"

Wow you too? Theres something about this game, its soo good that we want more people to experience it so we lend it. I've lent it to 3 of my friends and 2 have bought it since (felt pretty proud).

I really want to replay it again. But with U2, DS and MGSIV, its not looking likely for a while.

*sigh* If only more people were like you.

Ya that would be great. Although if it was going to happen, it should be alot closer to ZOE3.

I am going to post some old pics I used to use when I bought up ZOE:2nd Runner to people here in SW.

It sucks because ZOE 2 is very rare in the U.S., so people can't find it like they can in Europe.

See if you recognize them from old posts. :)

If not, enjoy the memories! :P

Glad to see you got some buddies to try it out, it was just sad to see others overlook this amazing cla.ssic.

Well, in term of story the original was better I'd say. But least the main character wasn't a total wuss in The Second Runner.ANd the main character was voice acted by Steven Blum! Couldnt as for much better. Other wise though, yeah, The Second Runner defintely kicked the crap out of the original. Way more fun.

Yeah, it was definitely a step above from the first. The first had a very stale design throughout, the scenery, and the bosses--while different in attack modes-- had a very linear if not almost identical visual *****. The traverse map was a bore, and the gameplay was unrefined. ZOE2 was pretty much the opposite of that.

Edit: ... you guys still have these silly restrictions on some words? What's the problem with stating s**** people?

Yeah, YOU were the one that got me into the series. I think it was around 2005 or early06, i read a post (or it may have been a thread?) where you were talking about the best PS2 games. You mentioned Zone of the Enders and made it out to be the best thing since slice bread. I got interested and bought ZOE1 2 weeks later and i remember thinking its nice but NO-WAY near what i thought it was going to be (based on what you said).

Well its four years later and i only played it a few months ago. I can proudly say you were right and thanks.

HOLY!!!!:o:D

Gosh!

Dang, that's crazy! What a small world. I wish I could have told you to start with the second ZOE...lol.

Still, you got around to finding it and playing ZOE2, and that's incredibly awesome. It would have been SOOOO easy to skip a last generation game with all the newer, fancier games these days!

Your welcome and now you must spread the ZOE2 word! That's is still crazy awesome story though.:)

I know people that didn't like it. So tread lightly. Most of the negative material used against the game(though that's mostly used against a lot of action games) is its repetitiveness, that quite frankly, I didn't find much. I thouht the combat, levels and bosses had more than enough variety to keep things interesting throughout. But really, weather you will get to like it or not, it doesn't hurt to try it. You might just be surprised with the final product.

AWESOME. I chain played 1 then 2 2 years ago. 1 was good. 2 was amazing. Best mech game ever, does a great job of telling the story without interrupting the game with cutscenes, and just makes you feel like an unstoppable ace mech pilot once you get it.

I just remembered that ZOE2 got a re-release. It's only £14 on Amazon, so I might order both that and Persona 4 later in the week. It better be as awesome as you guys are saying it is :x.

No its not repetitiveness that got the negativity, it was the control's and camera, and length of the game. Its worth the purchase as it's the best looking ps2 game by far. But I can see the controls and camera being negative values to the game.

Sorry, people, but from what I'm hearing 'nostalgia is one hellava drug'. I picked this game up, brand new, for the first a couple of months ago.

It is pretty, yes. Hell, it's damn fun. UNTIL I got up to the mines mission - where you have to avoid invisible mines and enter canned battle arenas. The directions you get aren't even correct half the time - the voice work is some of the worst I've heard in a game, and worst of allyou diedue to broken enemies and wrong directions. Those broken chain grabs thatthose two-legged freak robots have robbed it for me. It was beyond frustrating. I refuse to go back to it. Such a shame to what would've been an otherwisesolid game......

[QUOTE="SolidTy"]Remember that flying scene, where you had to disable the aircraft? OH, so many great gameplay sequences!SolidTy

Yeah tell me about it, not only did you have to destroy 100's of enemy mechs but you had to baby sit the friendly Levs too.As a huge mecha/gundam fan this game filled a hole missing in my soul, I miss that game.

You're play Z.O.E 1? You should just go back and finish the title. It isn't that hard and the game is very short.

Is he playing ZOE1? That's the problem. It was pretty decent, but ZOE2 was a HUGE, HUGE improvement in gameplay.

Yeah, ZOE1 was short, and I didn't like that kid protagonist, but I suppose it was necessary to create ZOE2.

Yes Z.O.E2 was amazing probably the best mech title I've played. It had fantastic gameplay and a good story.

Nope, he is talking about ZoE2. Remember when you go to meet the old scientist guy for the zero point shift upgrade? You have to follow the girls voice directions to avoid mines, then you go from elevator shaft to elevator shaft in the mini-town thing with the crushing walls. Its a pretty hard section, but you are also getting really close to the end of the game. Just go slow and the voice is correct. She tells you to stop if you go off course. God I loved that last battle.

I didn't even remember that part and yup, it was pretty stupid. After that though, you're all good, since the game only gets better as you progress. But I can understand where you're coming from

I didn't have a problem with the controls, as for the camera, I could agree to a point. The camera had its problems, but I didn't find it that bad. The problem with the camera use in Zone of Enders, is that Zone of Enders is an action game where combat is all around you, at every angle, at every altitude. Most other action games are mostly restricted to one plain,in other words, the camera is more easy to work with. Hell even then, popular action games like Ninja Gaiden the original for Xbox(finally got to play it a few months ago, though not black) and Ninja Gaiden 2 imo still had a worse camera at times, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the games.

Oh yea I remember that part. That part was kind of boring. But everything that happens after that part was amazing especially the last boss fights.

I remember ZOE2 being really hard, there were a lot of hard boss battles (which IMO is awesome). It was a hard game but boy was it a epic game.
