Konami can do BETTER than Metal Gear Survive! This is alittle RANT!

Today I seen the DF video on Metal Gear Survive. and I was thinking: Hey! Why Konami could just use the Fox Engine to re-make the past Metal Gear games! Instead of this..... LAZY-ASS CASH-IN! Till Konami does that. They will NOT see my MONEY! Just like Nintendo with their OVERPRICED HANDHELD!

I think we should hold off judgment until after it releases, see what is there, and judge it off its merit or lack thereof. Already though the gaming mob is waiting with torches and pitchforks because no Kojima and someone screamed microtransactions and everyone is losing their shit.

Konami lost me on that shit! Good thing I'll be spending my money on Dragon Ball: FighterZ.

So why make a direct sequel to MGS V when it wasn't that successful ?

It only sold 6 million copies worldwide which isn't successful for a game with 80 million development budget(And maybe 100 for marketing) and 5-6 years development.

The first part of the game(Ground Zeroes) was a complete failure that they just forced to turn it free near the launch of PP.

The main reason that Metal Gear Survive is a low budget game(With reusing assets from MGS V) is because MGS V wasn't that successful from business standpoint. And we may also say that Rising wasn't also that successful due to 2-3 years development hell.

Without Hideo Kojima behind the remakes of past MGS games....i think it's kinda pointless. I can imagine a rush job of a remake by konami's new standards, etc.

I'm actually looking forward to mgs survive. I'm hoping there is a good mix of survival sandbox with good gameplay. The reason there seems to be a massive market for things is because people want a good survival game... no one does it right. Although Zelda BOTW seems to be the closest thing to a good survival game that had good resource management and amazing exploration.

Looks awesone n co-op seems to be steep with difficulty/learning curve. Glad they went with an off-shoot, never could get into the base series and struggled trying to have fun with Metal Gear Solid 5. Def. Will be picking up Metal Gear Survive and its marked at a good price.

The Switch itself is pretty bad in quality.

For the game I heard it was horrible. Finding out that the game has MTX makes the game sound worse than it already was.

All I really want from them at this point is to port over past MGS games on to PC as an HD collection (including MGS Twin Snakes and MGS4) and after that I will stop hoping for anything from them, even completing MGS5.

Konami doesn't make games anymore. Metal Gear Survive is just gold coins (microtransactions), its what PES is today, myClub gold coins.

They canceled Silent Hills and fired Kojima. The days of Konami making games are long dead.

It looks Ok to me, I enjoy survival co-op games, the problem is I have too many on my plate already, I might get this on sale later after reading more reviews.

Konami left the gaming industry for pachinko, and you think they can do better than an asset flip?

Also I dropped my Switch onto marble twice now from like 1 meter (3 ft?) height and it still works fine.

(I do use a $5 glass screen protector on it.)

@joannadark360: They probably should remake Metal Gear 1 from the NES days but with current gen graphics. They could keep it with a top down view or have it in 3rd person. They'll have to update the gameplay and probably the item placement. I'm not sure what else to think of it.

They should remaster MGS3. The 3DS got a remaster of this game, why not make a remaster for modern consoles and the PC. The 3DS has a demo for it.

Konami the game developer is dead. The only interest they have in the classic legacy IPs that they've built their name upon is to whore them out in exploitative monetary schemes (Pachinko, etc), and the ones they do retain they're going to put the least amount of investment in just to be able to keep alive the IP to be able to suck its corpse dry.

Ugh... **** remakes! I've played those games already, damn it, and they're still totally playable and enjoyable. I want something new. And quit it with the fucking prequels, for god sake. I would have rather had a stealth sequel to MGS4 than the disappointment that was MGSV.

I played MGSurvive over the weekend. It's convoluted and takes awhile to get a hang of the crafting mechanics. It's basically a zombie mode castle defense game. The metal gear mechanics are solid. For forty bucks you could do worse.

I get the feeling it was an online mode planned for MGS5 which they didn't have time to finish so they worked on it later on and released it as its own separate thing.

Konami does still make Pes. Shrug.

I played the beta.. I mean I like how melee weapons are handled and the MGS5 gameplay but is all the game really about is fighting off waves of zombies? Just seems kind of meh if you ask me.

That's like EA making sports games. I mean if you want to talk asset flips, I don't think sports games are much better XD

Although considering the state of the industry, I don't blame Konami for wanting to play it safe with their business practices. Games cost too much to develop.

I wonder who will finally dare to charge a little more and advertise that they use no microtransactions, boosts, fake currencies or loot boxes. Certainly the backlash to a price raise would be much less than these awful practices with which they ruin the whole game. (Or a AAA with investors who are OK with aiming for less profits. I find it so hard to believe that all those people are so selfish that all they care about is returns. But I guess that's just me being naive.)

But I'm not even sure that any of this is necessary to make end's meet, as the release day prices have already gone up so much the past few years. Digital prices tend to be the same as physical which is a crazy profit boost.

It looks like an okay game at best, but it's way too expensive. If it were 20 bucks, that would seem more of a proper selling price. It just doesn't warrant the 40 dollar price tag as it is.

I really hated MGS 5, so I'm sure they can't drop the ball too hard.

Of course, I'll be enjoying all the exclusives that will come out with it, that my Xbox One won't have!

I'll enjoy both 3rd party AND exclusives games running at their best ( for a console! ) on the Xbox One X! You can just play your Nintendo exclusives ( they're the best part about that handheld! ) and.... the CARDBOARD!!!!

Believe what you want, because I was a huge supporter to the Xbox brand before the Switch took over, you can even ask @SecretPolice him and I are bros.
