How would this work exactly with stylus and wont it add to cost and lower battery?

Nintendo will surely figure something out regarding the battery situation before it is released.

Edit: Read the patent...are they trying to make the stylus have rumble? o_O

They have already stated the battery will have more life. After playing Metroid with rumble. I would be happy to see it added on the DS.

Well okay on battery life I guess but look at the system rumble design.

Its throughout the whole thing I can imagine a guy walking over a bridge over a lake or river and his system rumbling and him fiddling around trying to catch it as it plummets to the depths of the water... I could give other scenarios as well this may be way to much rumble ( not the kind in that little pack but 360 type rumble on a handheld...)

With all these potential features coming out for the 3DS,I wonder how battery life will be affected and more importantly how much will this thing cost. Would not surprise me if it is $200 or more.

I don't think the whole console will vibrate, maybe just the parts where the palm of your hand is supposed to me. And even then don't expect a big full rumble like on a Xbox 360 controller, maybe just a mild rumble.

Well I would find that funny. More than likely he could cut off the feature.

Mama said that magic is from the devil. If this 3DS utilizes magic, mama won't want me to get one.

Whoa, rumble in a handheld!? I definately am interested in this new DS now :D. (although I'm wondering how long the battery will last if they put that in...part of what edged out the PSP was the very battery life it had :?).

phones have been rumbling for like a decade or so and nobody is complaining :] If somebody would be so dumb to play with rumble while walking on the bridge and then be so clumsy than a small rumble might make him drop it, then he deserves it.

This is Nintendo though, I'm sure they will make it work. heck...the stylus could be simply connected by small chain/cab le to the rest of the handheld, like in some tablets

I would say a definite plus if they do that. Less chance of losing a stylus. Hate losing mine and replacing em'.

ghost392

So? And people have been droppign their iPhones on the ground or in the bathtoob all the time too. Accidents happen, nothing new. Also..there's no way Nintendo will put rumble anywhere near as strong as in 360 pad (and phones rumble are nowhere near strong enough to rumble the device out of your hand) and there definitly will be option to turn it off, if only to extend battery life.

And dear God, you have some awfuly clumsy friends...and messy ones too (playing with pad over a bowl of cereal? geeez)

why would you be playing it walking down the street to begin with,
in many areas its outlawed

,for you to be listening to music or doing other things, walkin down the street

, and why would some one lean over abridge?
