may be a shock...but that's all Halo fans want: the best Halo game ever.
nothing more. nothing less.
I like how he says it is Halo nothing more, nothing less. Though at the same time says...
"Got a good grasp on co-op as well, both two-player and four-player. Two-player, it's as par, but four-player? Pretty **** awesome. Seeing two Warthogs tear up a hill, with two human-controlled drivers and two human-controlled gunners, is pretty great. As is the feel of big battles - four players really seems to open up your tactical options, letting you approach those big Halo set-piece battles a little more experimentally."There is nothing revolutionary about most sequals but cows and sheep (and lemms) still hype them.
Halo 3 doesn't need to be revolutionary, the same proven AAA gameplay with new (and looking VERY fun) extras should be all that is needed to make the game something that will be giving fans of the series hundreds, if not thousands of hours of top notch fun.
Can't say that for most games that are hyped on system wars...
Last I checked, there are plenty of franchises that get hyped to hell and back but still don't have anything revolutionary.
Just shows how much of a fool most kids on here are for graphics.

Well, that is not entirely true. I am a Halo fan and I do want more, much more than Halo 2. Especially if this is the last one in the series. I want Halo 3 to make me feel how I felt when I first played Halo 1. I want to be blown away. Sure, I would tolerate a enhanced Halo 2, but I really want more, and who wouldn't?[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"][QUOTE="dzaric"]http://kotaku.com/gaming/anyone-for-thirds%3F/hands+on-with-halo-3s-singleplayer-final-movie-maker-290071.php

Halo CE was a huge step forward for console shooters and had far better AI, physics, gameplay, and level size than most games at it's time.
Halo 3 is coming out late into the system's life and other games like GeoW have already set a high water mark for graphics.
As long as Halo has the same AAA gameplay with a bunch of great new features I'm sure it will keep fans happy for hundrends if not thousands of hours. Isn't that way more than most games ever give us?
I am really looking forward to getting online w/ my friends and having some real CTF fun.
No one expected radical changes in the Halo formula, as it's worked excellently the whole time. All Halo 3 has to have to meet those AAA reviews is to tweak that fantastuc Halo gameplay and add a little more to it. 4 player co-op is a huge plus. The new grenade and weapon types are fantastic, and vehicles... ELEPHANT ANYONE? Some changes are bigger than others, but in the end it's beefed up Halo gameplay, and there's absoloutely nothign wrong with that! :)
[QUOTE="dzaric"][QUOTE="kittykatz5k"]Halo CE or halo 2? cause there's a huge difference between their singlepalyer games ;)myke2010
Ummmm....no.
What do you mean no? Halo 2 was much more confined and linear than Halo:CE. That was one of the biggest complaints against it.No, see that is just your opinion about it. My opinion in regards it being linear or not, I would say it was just as much as Halo CE.

Both games are linear but without a doubt, he is right. The differences is within the confined and very linear path in Halo 2 while as opposed to Halo's more open-ended levels.

Ah ok. That clarifies it. Why is it whenever I hear linear I think of endings.
I think what they are saying there is that It has the basic Halo formula. That means, it has nothing revolutionary in a FPS genre that Halo CE had when it was released.
most games get penalized for being the same thing all over again... but nope... not Halo...AntiTypeH2 was not like halo... which is why it was nominated as most disappointing game...
And here I am thinking I was going to get a racing game. Boy is my face red!PBSnipes
Nope. You're just getting a second re-hashed shooter.

Yep, you are right. Halo3 is a rehash. It's going to suck. Cause if something is similar to something that came before it, it cannot be good, right?[QUOTE="PBSnipes"]And here I am thinking I was going to get a racing game. Boy is my face red!Pariah_001

The halo hype has been torn to shreds by other games like bioshock, assassins creed, mgs4, resident evil 4, and many other games. I guess when u really look at it, its just the same game, just looks better graphically but same halo game we all come to know.

QFT. I was gonna put up the same quote.4 player co-op is going to be incredible.

It'll be intresting to see the scores when it's reveiwed then. Lately I've been seeing people say games need to be "innovative" and add something new. Like R&C that was one complaint that people had because it just looked like an upgraded R&C from PS2. This looks like an upgraded Halo 2 from Xbox. Also people were saying KillZone 2 looked good but it didn't add anything to gameplay that you haven't seen before.
Now add in Bioshock which is supposed to redefine the way you play FPS games.....having it release so close to this game might create a situation where people score Halo3 a lot lower.

Then you have no idea wtf your talking about then because not only was the campaign diffrent the entire game was played diffrently and majorly due to the dual wielding. The dual wielding changed the entire game and not in a good way, it diverted from the orginial scheme which was shooting, grenading and melee. With Dual weilding you could only shoot but couldnt throw grenades or melee. With Halo 3 they tone down the amount you rely on Dual wielding and bring the game back to Halo 1 which changes the entire game yet again since its a hybrid of Halo 1 and 2 and creates a great game.
So GOTY it is :)http://kotaku.com/gaming/anyone-for-thirds%3F/hands+on-with-halo-3s-singleplayer-final-movie-maker-290071.php

So, you want it to be Halo - that's pretty much what it is.

Actually he is right Halo 2 was so closed, it wasnt vast like Halo 1, not open, however halo 3 seems to be shaping up nicely on tis vast and open environment which is a plus
