I know from personal experience the last thing businesses want to give back is money even if it is virtual money. They would rather give you the moon than a dollar. Not sure why it is like that.

They are giving us 5 days to download a game, because its much cheaper for them to do that than to just give everyone 800 points..... because most people won't know about this and will miss it (plus some people already have purchased the game)..... if everyone on Live got 800 points.... they would eventually use them for something that they normally would have paid for and that would in turn cut a bigger hole into MS profits. Its just that simple.

I'm not complaining..... cuz hey I don't have the game yet, and I will be downloading it for free, so I'm happy.

82% on gamerankings, 16 player online, costs 800 points ($10), pretty good if you ask me. at least its not some bad $2 game. just hope not too many people have bought it yet. microsoft, thanks for admitting there was a problem and giving us some compensation for it.

Yes, at this point they both put about the same amount of effort into their online platforms but MS started four years earlier. If Xbox Live went free nothing would change, well we might miss out on some promotionals like all of the tournaments or something. It's all cheesy P2P anyway (aside from a few main servers) so the cheaper the better.

um - they do, or free accessory. you just have to 'inquire' about it and be a bit forcefut. it's not something they like to make public. i know several people that have been successful with this, one actually got an elite back because it was his 2nd rrod :P you just have to know how to deal with customer support people.

That's because it's the PC. Even if developers screw up their game's online, there's probably someone in the mod community who can (and will) fix it.

I don't see this as "making up" for crappy Live service over the holidays. They are also giving it to Silver members, whom are not paying for live. So how is it making it up for what has happened? I see them as merely giving a game away. I don't see any reason of paying 50-60$ /yr if Silver gets the same benefits, if the only difference is that we can play online. Which is P2P, why should we even be paying for that service. Team Fortress 2 for example is laggy as hell on the 360, if I play it on PC I don't see any lag at all.

I already have that game does that mean i don't get anything? i only had 1 month left on live and i couldn't go on it for the last 2-3 weeks so i don't think I'm going to renew i,ll just get all the multiplats on the ps3 that way i can still play the FULL game

While it is good that MS pays back those who missed out during the holidays, this payback is weak at best. Why not just give everyone credit? Let people use the credit towards whatever they want. Instead, they chose one title that is supposed to satisfy everyone who was out of Live in December. Lame.

Again, good for MS for payback. But its pretty sad that you jump through their hoops so much that this is great news to you. That you would give them "kudos" for this.
