Has anyone tried this game on Game Pass? I strongly recommend it for folks who are looking for a hacknslash with tower defense mechanics. Warning, this game maybe troublesome to some who are sensitive to "wokeness".🙃

Looks like a hack and slash. I’ll pass. But it’s good that you like the game. How far along are you in the game?

I finished the game. Now on New Game+. The hack and slash is just one element. Most of the game is reliant on your villagers but you can play without their help if you want to up the challenge.

Started playing it yesterday it's pretty darn good. It's a tower defense game with some hack and slash elements. I'm taking it slow repeating levels for those extra rewards if I can earn the level challenges so I can upgrade my villager classes and finishing upgrading the bases before going forward. Pretty fun game so far, very stylish.

As far into it as I am I'd easily recommend it at this point. And if you have Game Pass it's included.

@lamprey263: The good thing is that they allow you to refund your points at no cost. The bad is the animation you are forced to look at when you upgrade to a certain threshold, and you can't simply upgrade to the highest with all the pre-req when you have the points. There are quality of life opportunities in this game.

@Pedro: oh I know, I've already used that tool to rebalance upgrades to help beat the bosses and yeah when I refund points back into other classes forced to watch the upgrade animations

Definitely on my catch-up list when I finally have some money in September. The gameplay looks interesting and the art is gorgeous.

I didn't enjoyed it. Ended up quitting. Combat feels laggy and lacks impact. Good art direction.

What do you mean by laggy? Are you referring to the obnoxious animation lock and pause at the end of attacks?

Another samurai game? If it's from Capcom, it might be a good hack & slash.

Tried the demo after a strong recommendation from Eurogamer (Didn't even know it was a thing before today). Pretty good from what I played. Lovely art direction. Seems fun. I have added it to the wishlist.

I played half a dozen stages or so

cool premise and style but I found it too easy so far. like you barely need the villagers. I hope it gets tougher as I can see it being pretty fun if they actually overwhelm you with enough enemies to make the villager placement matter
