"retiring" only months after a major product was release sounds pretty fishy to me.

1st step get him out of day to day operations.

2nd step ask him to leavequietly

He is a senior technology advisor for the company from what I read and he will probably be using his engineering prowess and experience for Sony endeavors in the future beyond gaming.Maybe he will still have a great influence or part in creating the ps4 later on.

Eventhough he failed with the PS3, he did an amazing job and brought gaming to the next level. The PS1 was an amazing console, perhaps the best one ever made.

He might not have been asked to leave, but when he was let go from day to day operations... to me that's pretty much the same thing...

He probably left on his own will.  But when he got moved out of operations, that was a slap in the face.  He deserves better.

No, he stepped down to a different position and actively working.  If he stepped down and "retired" a couple of months later, then i might have thought the board asked him to leave.  But that didn't happen.  And if someone retires when all is well and good, that is a real retirement.

With the state of the ps3 and him getting moved, then "retiring" just doesn't look good anyway you look at it.  If he really did retire then i think he left at a bad time for the company.  People like to leave when everything is going well and knows things are in good hands.

You're an idiot. Bill gates announced long ago that he was going to be retiring in 08. Kutaragi stepped down with no advance notice in the shadow of a less than succesfull console launch. Whether he was asked to bow out or he did it out of his own sense of honor or failure is unkown, but you're a fool to think the two are not related.

 I believe "A New Hope" is the best film because George put his heart into it more so than any of the other films (though Empire is very close behind and for a long time it was my favorite of the films). But what really puts "A New Hope" up front is the fact that it sort of represents everything I loved about my childhood:  the yearn to adventure in a galaxy far, far away. ANH feels more like a grand space adventure opera than any of the other films.

 However, as far as which film tells the best story goes:  Empire>Hope>Sith>Jedi>Menace>Clones

 On topic:

 There is no way Krazy Ken would legitimately retire right now. The PS3, a system he seemed extremely proud of, was just released a few months ago and has yet to hit it's stride (if it ever does). There is no way he would leave at a time like this. If he was considering retirement he would leave later in this generation as development started on the PS4 to make sure everything was in good hands.

 He was politely, but forcefully asked to leave IMO.
