I don't recall Kutaragi being currently in second place as a nominee for Times "Top 100 influential people" :)
Â
Coulnt careless TBH. The fact is Kutaragi is resposiable for the development and the making of the greatest ever console. PS1. Which set the standerds for others to follow?

The PS1 would have been nothing without games. Kutaragi did not make games. Miyamoto is responsible for the inspiration of almost any game we play today on any console. Kutaragi became detached from his fanbase. Miyamoto is still reaching out to his.

Don't forget that Miyamoto had a hand in the development of the GC and the Wii.

2 very different fields. kutaragi is a hardware guy. Mitamoto is a software guy. they cant really be directly compared. both of them have had a massive influence in the games industry in their respective fields.
however if i had to choose one it would be miyamoto. he is considered the father of games for a reason. alot of the stuff we see now can be traced back to a game he made. any game he touches also tends to be brilliant. the zelda series (bar number 2), mario platform games, mario kart games, pikmin, all class. and he makes games at the end of the day. kutaragi doesent, he just makes the hardware. hardware on its own is not fun.
Miyamoto :D Without him there would be no Pikmin, Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox or Wave Race :o
LMFAO you have no idea what you are talking aboutActually, don't forget that Nintendo were the original developers of the PS1, Sony only took it after N scrapped it.
Kutaragi got rich mostly off of Nintendos (Miyamotos) groundwork.

nah he's right Nintendo went to Sony to make the nintendo Playstation and before any patents happend Sony scrapped the idea and went Solo, Hey bill gates did it right why can't other people do it. The reason Nintendo wanted the help from Sony was because of the CD drive if you know anything about anything, you would know Sony makes CD player back then and had factorys that can mass produce thats why Nintendo went to Sony. After a dispute about royalitys and development and who would make the most money Sony ran like girls and made the System themselves. this is why nintendo was nearly 2 years later than PS with there 64 and never released a 32 bit system. Sony kept the Code name Playstation and made quite possibly the greatest system ever.[QUOTE="gromit007"][QUOTE="gameruk2010"][QUOTE="Tylendal"][QUOTE="gameruk2010"][QUOTE="Tylendal"]Sorry, but Kutaragi is nothing compared to Miyamoto.Tylendal

Who's more important, the mechanic who builds the car, or the person that finds the powersource to make it run  Except it wasn't Kutaragi who invented the gaming console. The appropriate question should be, who is more important: the guy who remodels the car or the guy who revolutionized the way we drive cars?[QUOTE="sps9"][QUOTE="Chris-Hansen"][QUOTE="sps9"]LMFAO you have no idea what you are talking aboutActually, don't forget that Nintendo were the original developers of the PS1, Sony only took it after N scrapped it.

Nintendo was going to work with Sony on the PS1, but Nintendo bailed out, and they joined Philips and the CDi. Get facts straight.

they betrayed sony and went with european phillips buddy. it wasnt ps1 you are wrong, it was an add on then when nintendo realized they signed the CD rights over to sony(nintendo wanted to own everything, they got greedy) they betrayed sony and left. then when sony was working on a 16 bit system nintedo sued for partial rights and made them have a cartridge add on and most of profits. then sony scrapped all that and went to make PS1 and kitaragi or hirai i dont remember even designed the processor himself.Miyamoto's games were INSTRUMENTAL in the rebirth of the gaming industry after the Crash of 83. The only reason Kutaragi proposed the idea of making a game console to the CEO of Sony was because of the success of Nintendo, showing what a big business it was. This being before the failed partership between Nintendo and Sony on the Playstation project.

nintendo went to sony not the other way around, they even had sony sound chip in the snes. nintendo was trying to keep up with sega cus they announced the sega cd and nintendo needed sony cus they were the masters of CD manufacturing. then nintendo screwed them. kutaragi did a lot more than people give him credit for, he basically created PS1 all on his own and made the processor for 3d graphics, he was thinking about it all the way in the 80s. yes they wanted to make a console before but the execs didnt want to, then ninty needed them and they got in.Miyamoto's games were INSTRUMENTAL in the rebirth of the gaming industry after the Crash of 83. We basically said the same thing. I'm well aware of Nintendo going to Sony to develop the CD drive add-on as they wanted to keep up with Sega in that new technology, and how Nintendo ditched them for Philips.
What I'm talking about is what happened before that debacle, that Kutaragi's motivation for wanting to get into gaming in the 1st place came from Nintendo. And of course the source of Nintendo's biggest games which made them the success they were in the 8bit and 16bit eras (along with the 3rd party) was Miyamoto.
Miyamoto is the wind beneath Kutaragi's wings.

Sorry, but Miyamoto is nothing compared to Kutaragi.
There's a sucker born every second. Kutaragi was an executie at Sony and helped birth the PlayStation brand. Miyamoto, on the other hand, defined gaming and, some would argue, single handedly put Nintendo (and videogames) on the map in the 1980s.Â
I was there for both of these men's contributions to gaming. Miyamoto by a mile, folks.
I would go with Miyamoto,he seems to care about the consumers very much.T.T He looks creepy though...that hair and his creepy smile.:)He makes good games too.Kutaragi, lies alot.
