So I just got my copy of KZ2 today, and I must say, from the moment I popped in the disc and saw the opening scene...I had to wipe the drool from the floor from the graphical showcase. But, as I began to play from the first stages of the campaign, I noticed something disturbing...the controls, although placed intuitively, felt "loose". Even adjusting the sensitivity, I did not feel like I had precise control of the shooting with the dual axis layout. And the problem wasn't the kickback, it was just moving the dual control that I disliked. I think it probably is more deserving of an 8.5, although I admit to not playing far into the campaign and not yet touching the multiplayer...but I think this game could have been great with a 360 controller.

I know what your saying, and I wish some company would make a PS3, 360 shaped controller. Then I'd really want a PS3. I HATE the dualshock, ugghh.

I find the controls the best of any console in fact I am currently general online and have achieved all the rankings and the campaign is amazing.

It wouldn't be possible on 360 plain and simple 360 is just not powerful enough.

first off killzone 2 doesnt even look that good in the beggining, the graphics dont get shown off until halfway through the game really, and the controls are easily adjusted to and work great for the normal average gamer.

imo PS3 Controller > Xbox 360 Controller. The 360 controller has a good grip but it just feels a bit wierd.

I disagree TC, the PS3 controller is just fine, and you need to factor in no auto aiming as well.

Yes it does have auto aim. It has it bad. Its soo bad that next patch they are removing it or tweaking it.

The controller thing is a matter of opinion. I hate the 360 controller because it hurts my left thumb in FPS. The ps3 analog sticks feel really light like they might break but I still prefer them. They are plenty accurate.

This. Most 360 users are too used to being babied with auto aim in shooters. Halo 3 comes to mind, which has massive auto aim.

I think people are just use to their 360 controller and it's hard to pick up the DS3. I have that trouble at first, but then I get used to the controller and it's fine.

I havent played the game yet since I havent gotten to replace my PS3 yet but I found the PS3 controller pretty confortable but I do have more hands on with that than the 360s, but both controllers feel pretty solid IMO. Killzone 2 is on top of my list of games to get once I do get another PS3.

I think people have hate towards the Dualshock controller, over the actual controls (since they have been improved) I agree tho, K2 played on the 360 pad would be much better, if that's what you were implying.

You'll change your mind, I've seen it happen sooo many times. The KZ2 thread is full of people coming in complaining about the controls and then later on coming back saying "I don't know what happened but now it feels perfect!" :P

It's probably because you're not used to the actual PS3 controller for FPS and when you're playing a game like Killzone 2, which makes it even harder for newer people to get used to the control, you're obviously going to think it feels weird. You just gotta get used to the controller in general before you start tackling Killzone 2.

I bought cod4 for the ps3 (I was gold cross on 360 until I sold it for a ps3). After playing KZ2 for so long, I dont like Cod4's controls anymore. It feels like everything is made of styrofoam.

If they didn't have auto-aim in a console FPS then developers fail. If they're going to take out auto-aim, atleast make it a PC game.

I think it's funny that the fanboys are defending the game by saying they removed a feature on purpose .. which is like saying I didn't shoot my toe off on accident; I did it on purpose. So don't laugh!

It has a little when your shooting from the hip, but it's only a tad, what the above poster is talking about is an "exploit", but it isn't nearly as OP as people make it out to be, I know cause I use it lol.

On second thought, I've realized that's it pretty much impossible that Killzone 2 is playable without auto-aim. Being a PC gamer that likes to experiment, I've played old FPS with controllers through 3rd party software that have NO support for auto-aim ... and it was unpleasant.

I'd be willing to bet that the people here posting that there's no auto-aim haven't played a game without auto-aim in a LONG, LONG time.

Um, major difference between the PS3 and 360 controller for shooters. Triggers, looser Sticks, smaller controller, shorter handles...those just make it inferior to the 360's, for shooters, but overall a good controller for other games.

The PS2 controller was terrible for FPS. So, since the PS3's controller is pretty much the same, I can understand the problem.

The biggest problem though was when I played Super Monkey Ball Deluxe on the Xbox, pwned it, then played it on the PS2 and couldn't do very well because my fingers kept slipping off of the smooth surface. Bad design.

As far as consoles go, Xbox 360 controller FTW!!!

Its basically an auto aim exploit. If you tap it fast its like an aim bot. They are fixing next patch. Thank god.

Oh and if someone has a modded controller. Forget about it. They will own.

You'll get used to the controls. I have family members that don't like the 360 controller because they aren't used to it. Takes a bit of time I suppose. Luckily I can PWN fools with both Dual Shock 3 and 360 pad.

If you think Halo 3 looks better, you havent played KZ2

killzone2 cant look better unless bungies texture artist suck really bad which is untrue. halo 1 textures comparable to some of killzone2s. but ps3 256 mb video ram/ 256 mb system operating system uses more ram than 360's it's not gonna have better texture than console with 512 mb unified memory it's common sense.

So you havent played it then... wait was that a joke post?
