KZ3 is officially new console graphics king

This game is amazing. Theres so much chaos going on, more than any other FPS I've ever played. Uncharted 2 is a better game but I must admit Killzone 3 looks better. This looks so much better than KZ2 in many ways. While looking similar to 2, 3 has much much much more detail in its environments. I compared the two and couldn't believe the difference. 2's environment were pretty static and siimple compared to 3. (Does anyone else that has the game know what I mean by the environment detail compared to 2?) Also, the character models have recieved an upgrade as well. If Naughty Dog can improve Uncharted 3 over Uncharted 2 the way Guerrilla did with KZ3 in comparison with KZ2, then I'll be in amazement. Don't look at photos for KZ3, actually play it on a good HDTV to see its brillance. The gameplay is also top notch. This game deserved at least a 9.5, kinda hard to trust reviewers these days:?, oh well to hell with scores.:)

annndddd Mass Effect 2 is a better than both of them. i thought cows were beginning to get over the graphic whore thing, yet, here we are. they game deserves a 9.5 because it has better graphics than the last one....really??? wow smh...seeing the mentlity of some on here is depressing.

the beta didn't give a good looking stage, the rest of the game is jaw dropping.

reviews are subjective, graphics are more or less objective, you're comparing apples and oranges. You seem to take reviewers opinions as fact when its in your favor though.

I guess you already have a PS4 then, thats the only way I could understand you not being impressed lol. KZ3 rivals crysis in terms of graphical presentation. Of course, Crysis is more consistent though.

I still rate Unreal Tournament 3 as the best looking game on consoles. Killzone 3 looks nice but it doesn't deserve the insane graphics king praise that people throw at it.

KZ3 is awful.

Why are some of you guys speaking as if the TC isn't in this thread. :P In many ways, Killzone 3 is a nice improvement over KZ2. The controls were my biggest concern, and KZ3 nailed it without turning into some Call of Duty knock-off. The pacing and action-sequences seem to run along smoother as well, with more varied missions and settings. The graphics look different but I'm not sure if it's better than KZ2's, per se. It could be that KZ3 has more color. There are far more interesting set-pieces in Killzone 3.

Going into Killzone 2, I wanted to play the game mainly for the graphics and visuals. And I was blindly offset by it's sluggish and unresponsive controls. With that said, I really had to force myself to finish KZ2. I never thought it was a great game or AAA-status. Felt more like an 8.0 game, despite the nice graphics. KZ3 to me is like Dead Space 2 to Dead Space 1. It's filled with improvements over its predecessor and executes it very well. I hear all this talk about flopzone 3. I don't know... I thought it was a great game.

The leap from KZ1 to KZ2 was understandably huge but fro KZ2 to KZ3 s meh. They look almost the same apart from tiny details. The MLAA doesn't help the game at all, it is distracting. The environments are definitely bigger with more going on but thats not always a good thing.Overal I was let down by the game

He has a point though. The jump between Ass-Creed and Ass-Creed 2 was pretty big, so it's not as though sequels can't expand on their predecessors if they're both in the same gen of consoles. The devs could have done more with Kz3 but instead seem to have just tweaked certain parts.

Killzone 3 > God of War 3 > Uncharted 2 > Killzone 2 > Heavy Rain

Cows are really harping on about console graphics king...way to twist the rules to 'win' something.

Agreed about that. Of course PS2 to PS3 is huge. And its not really fair. But the point I was trying to convey was the big attraction to play KZ2 was because it looked great. Everyone was talking about it and saying it was extraordinary for a console game. So when the third game hit that novelty wore off. Its still hailed as a great looking game but now everyone is passed how good it looks and its true flaws start to shine through. If they release a fourth one they will need to change the graphics again. Because the engine will start showing its age soon

Shoving low res smoke effects everywhere on screen, and having a ridiculous amount of contrast =/= good graphics. The levels are static, low poly and low res.

I just bought the game yesterday, I dont like the art style, sp looks beter them mp, but most of the mp maps are disgusting looking. This games grapics are over blown.
