Ok so I'm 2/3 into the game and at this point, every time I try to play more I get bored in literally minutes. Its the same thing over and over and over again and its not even challenging to keep you interested. Its very easy, the game is a total cakewalk. Its a extreamlly repetitive, easy boring game with a BAD STORY.Yes, it has bad story. Each case has little to nothing in to do with the next case. You get some of Coels WW2 back story and thats pretty much the only continued story you get in the game. And let me tell you, this WW2 backstory is just pathetic excuse for a real nrrative (oh and you get some news paper story but thats optional).

I really wanted to like this game. I usually like this types of games. I loved Heavy Rain for example. Its my opinion ofc but I dont think L.A noire is a good game, not a good game at all. The face tech is cool and the actors do a great job but thatds about it.The clues and interogations are fun at first but by the time you get to vice its just painfull and the "action" in the game is so quite bad from the get go.

This game is so overrated its not even funny. a 9 ??? try 7.5

I disagree (my avy says as much), but I do see what your point is. However, I never get tired of the interrogations, the city and the action, too. The only part I find annoying, ironically enough, is that the game is not always clear on what it's asking for in interrogations. The doubt button is particularly troublesome in that department.

i'm sure alot of people saw ROCKSTAR on the box and thought GTA : DETECTIVE VERSION, nope, the game wasn't even made by RSTAR but Team Bundi. The game isn't for everyone but i heard nothing but great things about it so when it drops in price i'll definetly try it out.

That's what many people think, probably. However, I don't think the TC thought so, as he sayed in the first post, he likes games like HR.

i know thats why i said this game just isn't for everybody. Also heavy rain and this L.A Noire are two different genres, heavy rain wasn't an open world environment and didn't have interrogations and all that. It did have detective elements but these are two different game genres.

I think people are confusing repetitive game play with repetitive disc swapping.

Joking aside, i think it should of gotten a 9.5. Great game so far.

God help you grammar, it's repetitive. Next every game is repetitive in it's own sense. So I really don't accept that as a good argument anymore.

action games are also as repetitive, plat formers are also repetitive, and fact all games are repetitive, its just an adventure game focusing on finding and puting clues together to successfully interrogate someone, with an occasional action sequence to break up the slow pace.

It DOES have an overarching storyline, and the cases (more towards the end) do connect with each other.

I think the doubt button is for when you don't have evidence but they appear to be lieing, versus accusing someone of lieing when there is evidence. But the choices sometimes feel ambiguous.

Disagree, I never felt bored or that it was so repetetive. My gripes have to do a bit with the same flaw as Phoenix Wright, where you can very much know a fact based off evidence, but still have to present it a very specific way at a very specific time, even when it makes sense for several different statements.

Unless you decide to blow through the interrogations by hitting a random button, I don't really see how it could be repetitive. The circumstances, evidence, people, and their relationships change every time and you have to pay close attention if you want to catch people in their lies. The shooting and chase sequences are whatever, but the interrogations and investigations are the real meat of the game (IMO).

That's the thing. People don't get that Rockstar didn't develop this game. Sure they probably help out out Team Bondi. Gave them an engine to work with. But other than that, I'm pretty sure the rest is Team Bondi.

It was the same with GTA 4 and RDR imo.

Unfortunately I had to play through both of those games fully because of work but by Christ I found them boring and repetitive most of the time.

Sure, they are "masterpieces" and all but that doesn't make them anywhere near as good, particularly when it comes to old fashioned FUN, as most people would have you believe.

Driver here > Kill him/them > drive here > kill him/them...and all with slightly shoddy shooting/combat.

This isn't what LA Noire is. Although gunplay isn't the greatest, the gunplay in general take a back seat to interrogations and investigating.

Yeah, most likely. It's just that sometimes, the doubt button also functions as a way to get more information from the suspect, if they're lieing by omission, for example.

Wildly different, actually. The game focuses on inspection and interrogation. Meanwhile, the shooting is minimal and only possible in certain events. If you hit a citizen or car, it reflects on your score at the end of the mission.

I really enjoyed it. But you echo my main 2 complaints. The investigations became highly repetitive about mid-way through, and it was WAY too easy. Yet I still enjoyed it mostly for the story, and just because it was something different from the dime-a-dozen shooters. Rockstar definitely needs to mix things up big time for GTAV, they need to somehow make the gameplay and mission structure more fluid.

Engines are only the supports of a game experience, what's built on top of it is what matters. The sandbox element can be entirely skipped, though I find it to be one of the most interesting sandbox environments I've ever played; I usually greatly dislike sandbox games.

While I'm not as enamored with it as a lot of people are I'd say it's really a stretch to call it repetitive or repedative (whatever the hell that means). It's an interesting game with some great acting and atmosphere.

People need to stop blowing through games, it isn't a race. Soak it in and enjoy all the game has to offer.

This is why I'm looking forward to DLC. It will have nothing to do with the story. Kinda like how Traffic was.

...um its by Rockstar...the makers of GTA...of course its repetitive....you can literally condense the GTA series and most Rockstar games into go here pick this up deliver it, find this hooker *in the case of gta* deliver her or kill her...Find this guy kill him pick up your pay a bunch of guys are after you now.

Rockstar games are the epitome of repetitive when it comes to their core gameplay you play rockstar games for the extra stuff you can do.
