So LA NOIRE.
LA NOIRE is an open world action game set in 40's LA (duh) being developed by a relatively unknown Austrailian studio called Team Bondi and Published by the masters of open world games Rockstar.
Unlike that of Rockstars chaotic GTA series, LA Noire is an open world game with a different pacing. You play as Cole Phelps, a cop and a detective, alot of your time will be spent deducing facts, and finding liars, getting the truth from people and other detective work to solve a case.
Action in LA Noire is still present. You will have fist fights, shoot-outs and car chases across the city albeit less ridiculous than other open world games.
The attention to detail is massive. EDGE magazine says that the acting is far ahead of the usual video-game stuff and avoids cliches that are usually associated with games of this type. Over 2200 pages of dialogue have been recorded with more still coming. Theres enough audio for two years worth of a TV show and 12 full length movies Team Bondi claims.
The city itself is full of life and detail, in one situation, a drunk harrased the protaginist for another round. There are many others that make this world believable.
