Lair Has Lemmings Insecure & Jealous

Wow, I love judging games off static screenshots months before they are even relesed.     I've actually owned & played GeOW, & that game is the epitimy of dull, boring, samely gameplay.   It was great for the 1st hr until the pretty graphics wore off, then medocrity set in faster than paris hilton drops her panties at a celebrity party.   

Get over it lems, your 1 year (no competition) reign has ended & PS3 will now take over where your beloved Dreamcast 2 failed to & sell masses to the masses.

Dragons are cool. Panzer Dragoon Orta was awesome.

Having said that, I still don't see anything especially special about Lair. I can't see it being a killer ap or something PS fanboys are going to be proud of after a month or so. Looks like a pretty average game in my opinion, but I guess we'll have to wait for reviews and to play it ourselves.

Yes, very true if your 5 & have only played consoles since they went online & truly believe only onlne games are fun.    I am the opposite, I actually like online games, but would rather play GOW1 or 2 than some half baked Tom Clancy shimmozzle, or all the other numerous pc handemedowns that reaked of bad quality conversions & were riddled with lag that the original xbox sported.

It's a tradeoff, most cows are very much insecure about the fact that the PS3 is actually facing competition and not stomping Nintendo and Microsoft into the ground like they were all so certain Sony would.

Why is everyone assuming I'm advocating games need MP to be good? They don't. Games only need MP if their single player is short or lacking.

In practice, PC games combine the best of both worlds, since they usually have engrossing single player and extensive MP support.

And here I thought this thread might have something insightful to say.... Instead I got dry humor and a person bashing Gears of War for no apparent reason. People like the topic poster who post threads like these make me not want to get the system more than anything.cutmaclass1

I really don't get why the TC was bashing Gears, it's not relevant to the success of Lair in any way. 

    Jealous would imply I want the game myself. That is inaccurate. As of right now, there has been nothing from Lair that has impressed me about it, and until something impresses me about the game, I won't be jealous, I will just be apathetic.

    If the game is great, and I can see other reasons to get a PS3 besides Blu-Ray, I will pick one up. Until then, I will wait for price drops. Lair is not a Killer App, at least not until it proves itself beyond some screenshots. 

Here's why Lair won't socre as high as Geow:

Not nearly as good graphics ( Currently of course)

It will get boring faster.

All the technical aspects are a bunch of nonsense "oh we have a huge draw distance" yeah well it doesn't really matter when theres practically nothing in that draw distance "oh we have multiple types of enemies all thinking on their own blah blah" yeah, all the ground troops are pretty mcuh the same

    Show me something that should impress me, besides motion-blured screenshots and developer promises that should get me convinced that Lair is anything other that a run-of-the-mill AA game.

This game looks boring.  Its more the 10 - 12 hours of gameplay as a dragon that may sway people away from the premis.  Nobody here has played it though so wait and see.

dont bash on the Tom Clancy games. Not our fault you guys got the bad ports. Take that up with Sony and Ubisoft if you have problems with the bad ports. I rather play RSV than God of War series. God of War 1 and 2 are good games but i prefer playing Rainbow Six Vegas. Hell i prefer RSV over gears.

As for Lair graphics look impressive, but i am not fan of flight simulation games So dont tell me what i should like or not. I dont know why people keep comparing games with gears or hype it up as saying its the gears killer. It is funny how some are insecure about their console purchase and act as if gears is a threat to them.
