So who do you guys think was to blame for the debacle that was Lair? Even after the game released the patch for analog stick controls a couple months back the word around the internet was that the game was still around a 6.0 or so. Who is to blame for this.....did we pin Sony or Factor 5 to the cross? Becuase if it's already been decided I missed it.

Factor 5.

The controls were only a part of the games problems. The game was a technical mess

^^^

yeah I agree. it was partially Sony's fault for pushing the six-axis on them but even with analogue controls it's still a pretty bad game.

Both are to blame.

Sony for letting them release it on the PS3, and Factor 5 for making it.

Factor 5. They failed at using the sixaxis. It was supposed to showcase the sixaxis, but it crippled it. I loved the Starwars games Factor 5 made for the GCN. I was hoping that Lair would reflect those games, but it did not.

Picture the dev team around a conference table:

"So, hows the game looking?"

"Fantastic, were ready to go gold sir!"

"Are you positive, there aren't any tiny bugs or things we need to smooth out?"

"We've found nothing noticeable to complain about in our play throughs"

"Alright! Well done!"

I don't see how someone could sink so much money into a project that wasn't even playable..

little of both, sony for making the ps3 hard to develop for, and factor 5 for not putting enough work into the gameplay and focusing too much on the graphics, and seriously, if they had the time to put in that whole damn hot coffee thing they should have time to incorporate analog control on launch day

It's always SONY's Fault when talking to Gamers and SW. Sony already took a horrible hit on this in SW.

In the Business World, Factor 5 got hit, and rightfully so.

The game isn't bad, it just isn't great, but I haven't tried the new controls either.

Both. Factor 5 is the developer, so they should be ashamed, but Sony should've kept a closer eye on a game they're publishing.

Sony spent A LOT of money on it, they were banking it to be released on launch, so Factor 5 were feeling the pressure in releasing it early. But at the same time, how about they get their heads out their backsides and actually polish the game rather than wasting time on CG custscenes, or more importantly delayed it

The game has potential, Lair 2 could be a great game
