That being said, there are still allot of games which I can't see going that route, like The Elder scrolls (And pretty much all Bethesda games), LoZ (And pretty much all Nintendo titles), and various JRPG's. Those cinematic experiences are usually only limited to the Action adventure Genre, but it could change.

No. JRPG's in general were irrelavant to the majority of PS2 owners.

Yeah, there were a lot of great JRPG's last gen. But FFX, FFX-2, FFXII, KH, KH2 and Dragon Quest VIII were the only heavy hitters.

Last gen was all about action/adventure games. Only 3 FPS series are relevant (COD, BF and Halo) this gen so there's no way this gen is all about FPS.

Action games (whether they involve guns or not) and FPS games seem to be the most relevant overall though.

If you mentioned games like Dark Cloud or Rogue Galaxy to the average gamer, you'd get a blank stare. Mention something like Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts though, and you'd most likely get a different reaction.

Most of the JRPG's released on the PS2 only appealed to a niche audience. Just because there was a plethora of them, that doesn't mean they "ruled" the gen. Especially when most of them sold like s**t, excluding the six games I mentioned earlier. Only a handful of JRPG's were heavy hitters.
