"Once again during his Q&A panel at MetroCon, North created headlines by casually confirming the existence of The Last of Us 2. A fan inquired if North was collaborating with Naughty Dog on any projects following Uncharted 4, and he responded by confirming that Uncharted 4, for the time being, would be his last time working with Naughty Dog. However, North didn’t stop there, as he followed up his statement by saying, “I know they’re doing a Last of Us 2.”

Megaton because the game of the generation this is confirmed! Hope we play as Ellie in her mid 20's; that or we get a completely new cast of characters in the same universe.

New characters confirmed. I'm sure we won't see Ellie anymore because Ellen Paige would sue. And I'm fine with that. Fix the A.I. and I'm all in!

I am pretty sure Sony themselves had already confirmed a sequel some time ago...?

Based on the name alone the game is guaranteed to sell bucket loads of copies.

Playing Ellie in her mid-twenties would be awesome, but Druckman said they were done with her story, and anything they could write would surely disappoint someone, another set of characters is much easier.

I won't lie, i really want a sequel, this might just be enough (with Horizon of course) to finally make me want a PS4.

The most logical move after the success of the last game, and with the player base of the PS4 this will easily sell more than the first one.

I have yet to play the first one though :(

not really that fast. TLOU came out in 2013. Obviously TLOU 2 wont come until after UC4, so like 2017-2018 ?

i guess that's true, as long as they take their time to polish it like the first one.

of course there's TLOU2, the series is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too amazing for just one game. Make the game open world'ish with scavenging as a big new addition and it'll be yet another game that makes every lem and hermit very salty.

I'm intrigued to see what Naughty could do with a second generation PS4 game.

Ehhh... I'm not sure. As long as the story doesn't feel like forced, contrived crap like Aliens Resurrection or something. Like, as long as there's an actual point to the story being told, then I'd be fine with it.

Improve on everything the first did and the game will be great, if not, its will be another average game.

well to be fair TLOU didint really have a conclusive ending. Theres still things that can and most likely come back to the two leads.

Care FAAARRRR more about this game, then about Uncharted 4. To be honest, I *almost* DGAF about Uncharted 4 outside of multiplayer, and my curiosity to see if they evolved it and made it as good as TLOU's multiplayer.

I played hundreds of hours of Uncharted 2, and 3, as well as BOTH of the Uncharted 3 betas. While managed to derive enjoyment out of the Uncharted multiplayers, the Uncharted franchise in general (both MP and beyond) never seemed like it had its own identity. Or rather, that franchise just felt like it had a major identity crisis, and they didnt really know what their own identity was.

TLOU to me, was NaughtyDog coming into their own, "finding themselves" so to speak, gameplay-wise and design-wise. It felt like, from its conception, they had a clear and coherent vision, and the franchise had an identity of its own. That was also what made its multiplayer so great, as opposed to Uncharted's "okay" multiplayer that in ND's own words was just a mishmash of Gears/Halo/CoD shoved into Uncharted's mechanics. It actually bothers me how little people talk about TLOU's multiplayer, when discussing the game.

Good for Sony fans but like champ said, I'd rather have them make something new. Or old. However I think Sony will force them to stand for cinematic experiences for some time.

Huh. Interesting. Hopefully they'll do something new after UC4 before jumping onto The Last of Us again (that rumoured sci-fi game would be a cool break), but it makes sense. I mean it's their best single selling game, of course a sequel would be in the works.

They literally worked on a new franchise with each gen and 2 on the last one (UC + TLOU). I think they deserve some slack and freedom to do work a bit longer on their own franchises. It's not like Sony made them a dedicated UC studio, TLOU wouldn't have happened if that were the case.
