Launch Lineup Comparisons - possibly the best ever?

I wanted to provide a summary of each console's purported launch day titles and how they stack up historically.  It's always convenient to say that they won't stack up to previous generations but on paper there's a compelling case to be made that PS4/X1/Wii U will provide one of the best all-around launches ever (as far as day 1 releases are concerned, subject to change).  Check it below:

halo combat evolved originally exclusive xbox 2001 launch remained untill 2003 lol.

xbox360 perfect dark zero exclusive still 2005 launch.

While your point is valid, it will be pretty sweet on day 1 to have access to 3 f2p games (decent ones at that) in addition to whatever you purchased.

Meh. I've seen enough launches to know the initial line ups are almost always disappointing once actually out, and are forgotten quickly once regular releases start flowing. santoron

Pretty much.  

I miss the good old launch line ups with a killer app or two.  Instead of bogging you down with sheer numbers you would just get a great game that justifies the purchase.

I know those were few and far between even back then, but it was great when it happened.

I think that one died off once PS3 started getting more exclusive shooters.

Sounds like the way to go on the latter part.  I just cant swallow the X1's policies.  I bash the system here on SW, but the game line-up does look nice enough.

Its a wait and see approach right now.  I'm not even considering getting an X1, but that could change in time.

It wasnt bad at all.  360 probably had the best launch of the 3, but I found myself playing Geometry Wars more than anything else.  :P

I guess I just miss the days of SMW on SNES, or SM64 on N64.  Games that are still among the best in the library even in the end.  And even consoles that didnt have a killer game right away got them early on.  Like the PS2 and MGS2, Tony Hawk 3, FFX, etc..

MS would need to launch with Halo, Sony would have to launch with something like TLOU or an exclusive MGS5 and Nintendo would have to launch with a full on main Zelda game to reach those levels.

Hell even GameSpot thinks so.

I think the big deal here is that both consoles will have Watch Dogs at launch. That game looks absolutely AMAZING!

Xbox One exclusive lineup destroys the PS4. No contest. If cows wanna to watch me play dead rising 3 I"m gonna have it broadcast to twitch for you to enjoy. hehehe
