@Bigboi500: "Looks really good, but I'm still not sure about it just yet."
Did you once (or a few times) say that about past games and it end not meeting your personal preferences?
Yeah, Destiny for instance. Looked good but ended up being shallow and one dimensional. I hope this game has more to it than Destiny did.
@jj-josh: I don't want to break any NDA agreements, however it just felt like it needed ALOT of work and in many ways it felt sloppy, however that could be expected as it is alpha. It did seem like there was a lot of customization in game and for your character. It seems to have a pretty large open world with lots to do and seems like it could be a fun RPG. However, it just didn't seem ground breaking or fresh. Again, I was very limited to what I could and could not do as many things were blocked off from use. I guess it will just be a wait and see.
Anyone things it's too tactical?
No, I think it's too "video game" honestly. I thought they were going to take a more realistic approach to this, but all I'm seeing are UI elements everywhere, damage indicators for shots and so on, it's honestly turning me off...
I was hoping it would be more of a DayZ type survival game with story elements, minimal information, almost no UI, realism at the forefront of design, this just looks like 3rd person Destiny.

When was that? If it was quite some time ago, hopefully a lot of things may have changed then.
Its one of the titles I'm looking forward to, the kind of settings and gameplay that I like, it'll be a real shame if it didn't work out.
@mirgamer: Alpha was in December.
I was in the Alpha as well, and I enjoyed the hell out of what I got to play, my only real worry is that the content will be sparse like it is in Destiny. A lot of mats to discover/hidden items, not very many actual missions.
I will say that what I like about the video is how they show the base being cleaned up and even improved, it's my biggest gripe with Fallout 4 and something I've wanted to see ever since we got to fix up the base in Saints Row 2. I would run around down there wishing I could pick shit up and turn the whole damn area into one giant underground palace. Hopefully they go all out with this in The Division.
If its a huge game with tons of things to do then i will buy it still. But daaaaaamn those visual downgrades are severe. Bet you Xbox One happened and that's the reason it was downgraded this much.

Literally both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One happened, they are why downgrades happen, nothing else, none of this imagined fanboy bullshit you try to perpetuate... Why do people like you keep trying to hamstring this to the Xbox One? Like what is the motivation?
Your point is completely illogical.

Don't even try, we all know its Xbones fault. Parity with Ubisoft is nothing new and that's the latest example.
Already looks better than Destiny, kinda sad Bungie released hot garbage while Ubicrap looks like it can have a decent game with the Division.

Always looking for a scapegoat but not actually using your brain to think about what you're saying... If they were looking to achieve parity then everything would be on equal footing, that is what parity means, not different resolutions, not different performance, especially worse performance in two instances on the PlayStation 4...
In the grand scheme of things the PlayStation 4 is just as bad as the Xbox One, you play games on PC, you should understand this. If dropping the resolution a peg on the Xbox One brings it into the same performance/graphical bracket as the PlayStation 4, there's nothing to brag about...
Take off the fanboy horse blinders, it's pathetic how delusionally dismissive you're being, both of these consoles are responsible equally for graphical downgrades because they're for the most part equally as graphically capable at different resolutions.
If it renders at 1920x1080 on PS4 with a good frame rate I'll consider it...... I don't buy games on PS4 that don't render at native 1080p.
What's the hype about? What's interesting with the multi-player? From watching that, it looks like another generic third-person shooter. Plus, it's Ubisoft. They don't really do good games anymore.
Its got loads of money behind it, but yeah i agree it looks almost completely devoid of original or good ideas.
for those who've played the beta, how's the world feel? Is it truly open or some Destiny bullshit that is more linear than anything else? Does it feel more like Fallout 4 or Destiny?
I've been somewhat hyped for this game for awhile, and have done my homework on this game, so let me share what I know about it to clear things up.
First things first. The Division is being made by Massive rather than the typical Ubisoft. Massive has a far better reputation as far as developers go. They've made quality games in the past such as World in Conflict, and have created a custom engine just for this game.
From my experience playing the alpha, it looks, feels, and plays a bit like Ghost Recon future soldier in an open world setting. It's a third person cover shooter, with tons of customization for both your guns, and your character. The animations are good, the weight of the gunplay feels good, and the hit detection is solid, although it does take quite a bit of ammo to put enemies down.
While the alpha only allowed us to play in a slice of the map, it is easy to see that the final game world will be large. It's the most realistic representation of a real city that I've ever seen in a video game. The developers have stated that they drew a heavy influence from the film I Am Legend, and that is apparent as far as how NYC looks in the game.
The seems to not just be large horizontally, but vertically as well. Apart from just the street level, you can also explore both rooftops, and an extensive subway system. The map looks to be a step up from games such as GTA 5, and AC as far as level of detail goes. Manhole covers have steam coming from them, trash is everywhere, npc's going about their daily lives, etc...
From what I've read and seen so far, this game is starting to really look good. Seeing as I've researched this game to death... If any of you guys have questions about it, feel free to ask, and I'll tell you what I know.
This is reminding me of another me that had promise like this and would up sucking ass... trying to remember the name. Anyways though I refuse to have any hype for this game since every game this gen I was hyped about wound up sucking badly..l
Damn The Division might be the first "MMO" thats going to be a Day-1 sale for me...after a looonnnnggg looooonngg time...
