The Ganon, and ness parts were joke.... right? Please god, say yes. :|
Overall, my favorite is probably sonic. He is just really fun to play with.
Someone needs to lay off the 'fiji water' if they're being serious...i dont even know who half the characters are...
Ganondorf?

Seriously?
Marth and Ike are characters from the Fire Emblem series. It's a strategy RPG series, most of them didn't see north american releases, including the game with Marth in it. However, Ike has been in two NA released games. the GC's path of radiance and the Wii's radiant dawn.
Lucas and Ness are from the Mother series. Mother is a series of RPG games which started on the NES. The only game that made it out of japan was Mother 2, and it was renamed Earthbound - it's a classic SNES rpg that has quite a powerful fanbase, it featuers Ness as the main character. Lucas is from the most recent mother game, mother 3 released for the GBA. The mother series is worth checking out! It has a very unique sense of humour, and at least the first two games took place in a very present day north american like world*. I believe mother 3 is alot like that too, but i've heard it has some differences.
*I should clarify; the game starts in a NA setting, but your characters end up travelling the world.
Pit is from Kid Icarus for the NES.
Ganondorf is Link's main nemesis throughout the Legend of Zelda series. The incarnation in SSBB is from Twilight Princess. He used to be known only as Ganon, and was the pig-man like monster you faced in the original and link to the past.
My least favourite is probably Lucario.. i just don't know much about him, most of the other characters i have alot of attachment too(well, maybe not ice climbers).
ok you guys are telling me I should know...who is he? Maybe I do know Im just not picking up on it...what games he from?Fiji-WaterGanondorf is from The Legend of Zelda.

ok well ive never played Legend of Zelda so how the hell was I supposed to know....Fiji-Water
I think people are just surprised to see someone on a gaming forum that doesn't know Ganondorf. He's a pretty big villian that even people who've never touched the zelda series know. Not quite on the level of Bowser, but big none the less. Granted, it's really not a problem that you don't know.
What would you say is your least favorite character overall in Brawl? I must say that after playing with Olimar and Snake, I was sickened by how bad they were. Your opinions?drought11
You read my mind. Those two are probably the worst for me, but I do know some people who are really good with them.

It's common knowledge, even to people who don't play the Zelda series so.....I'm just going to assume you barely play video games and call it a day.
As for the question, I'll admit Sonic, Snake, and Lucario seem a little weird when I play as them, but I just chalked it up to not enough playing time with them. I actually can't stand Ness. But the worst is Jigglypuff. I will never understand why they keep putting her in.
Snake is really just not very good. He'll prolly be someone I focus on playing as b/c we play "opponent chooses", and "random" for the most part.-RPGamer-The first time I played as Snake he felt pretty natural to me. :? There are only a few characters like Peach and Sonic that I really cannot get used to, but other than that I think everyone is easy to use.

I actually rock my friends pretty badly with Peach and it surprises them because they thought she was a pretty worthless character before I came around. I'm sure in time we'll find some people who absolutely rock with Snake and Olimar. That's one of the things I love about SSB: some people may think a character is pretty bad while others can't imagine how they played SSB without them depending on their fighting preference. I think it's pretty cool.

Many of his moves are just poorly designed in matches I think. He's slow for one. Secondly his left/right smash is at an odd angle. C4 is kind of lame if anyone pays attention. And really his moves in general are too self destructive, and not good for close range. At a distance he stands a decent chance, but there are much better distance fighters to be had.

I don't know how you're using him, but when I use Snake, I don't have any problems up close or far away.
Like I said before, I really don't think there is a bad character. Every character is going to have somebody who can own with them.I actually rock my friends pretty badly with Peach and it surprises them because they thought she was a pretty worthless character before I came around. [QUOTE="Stabby2486"]Pit, Marth. And Ike in FFAs.kayn83
Marth is amazing, I'll beat you any time with him.. my friend code is in my sig.
so much hate for Olimar though, his up smash is pretty good, at least, I think the move is his up smash
I'm not saying he's bad, he's just one of my least favorite characters because he's so good it's a bad thing. Anyway, I'll take you on.
Olimar was horrible. EVOLV3Olimar is pretty good. Try using him some more, he has some nasty smash attacks, and his aerial attacks are better than you'd think as well.

Different design, Ike is a close range monster, and a deceptive character (him and Marth are really neat to play as if you get good at reading people for counters, which is quite quick).

Favorite 5; Wolf, Ike, ZSS, sheik, Snake
Least favorite 5; Wario, Ice climbers, yoshi, zelda, donkey kong
Snake's.....weird, to say the least. His play styIe is just so incredibly different that it's hard for many to use him effectively.
Basically, my thoughts are, Snake is a wait-and-act character. His side smashes are good, but very slow, so it's not even a good idea to use him close range, unless you're certain you can make contact.
Spamming grenades and laying down C4 is a good tactic. His up-smash is also handy if you want to create distance from yourself and an oncoming attacker.
i thought i was gonna love ike, but he's a bit too slow for my playing
snake is too much of a distance fighter
i actually kind've like the quirks of olimar, even though he only has like two moves
i pretty much suck with the tank fighters, though not too bad with bowser, wario or charizard
but diddy kong i'm not as good as i thought id be
pit is pretty cool but i still think he could be better, though i've been digging meta knight
barely touched dedede.. from what i've heard, he's the stinker, though everyone seems to think its olimar
and i generally dislike squirtle.. i'm more of a bulbasaur kinda guy
havent gotten too much into lucario yet but kind've dissapointed
i dunno if i consider any of these guys bad though, i'm just generally new to smash
i suck with samus and rock with link, kirby or marth

Like I said I use him more actually. I play him the majority just for the sake of practice. I still walk away thinking he's got unbalanced design, it's not that I don't play him enough to know what he offers. I just think he offers little, and essentially excels at nothing. I was really quite shocked when I first played him and thought "woah, for a neat 3rd party entry they really dropped the ball on this guy."

It's called you don't know how to use him. I think that Snake is one of the strongest characters in the game.:(
So much Olimar hate.
I'm surprised more people aren't saying Ike actually. I didn't think I was going to use him for a while just because he is so slow, but I practiced and now I'm averaging 4 kills a game with him online.
Sonic.
The rest are ok though.
nintendofreak_2
Really? Of the newest additions, Sonic was the one I was most impressed by; but I guess i'll know for sure once I get the game.
I thought he was overpowered at first. If you play hit and run with him that seems to work really well. It seems to me that's what they made him for. Use Snake like you would in Metal Gear, and you can use him. That's how it is with most of the characters actually. Just use them like you would in their games and you can really have something.Like I said I use him more actually. I play him the majority just for the sake of practice. Olimar. My Pikmin just constantly die :(
Lucario, but I think if I practice with him I could get good with him.
:(

Same on both counts here. I may suck with Olimar, but I love using him as a character, and his aerial smashes are decent. He's the kind of guy I use when playing with friends just for kicks. As for Ike, it took me a while to get used to him since I play faster characters like Pikachu and Captain Falcon, but yeah, when you get the timing right for his charge attacks, Ike's a beast.
