Fighters in my opinion since I see no major difference in the advancements of series like Tekken, DOA, SC, VF.

Super Smash Bros is the best fighting series easily nowadays.

They're changing all the time. Bioshock, STLAKER, and Crysis are all easily different than any other FPS games out there.

I agree, I like fighting games at times but I get bored of them fast no matter what that game.

If innovation is what you want, look no further than fighters. How about some innovation for FPS. The last innovation idea for it was the rechargeable shield. If you think Street Fighter 2, Tekken 1, and Virtua Fighter 1 has not change from it's counterparts, then you don't know what innovation is. Just because you don't find it to be interesting doesn't mean it's not new.

What I see when I look at your sig are 3 figures who are over-rated. However, unlike Nelly Furtado and the PS3, Socrates knew he was over-rated.

Although they looks good they haven't realy changed much. I mean Crysis is a shinier farcry with a nano suit instead of feral powers.

I would say FPS's  Their kind of clunky... still... Not that I don't like them but I'd love to see someone reinvent them.  Hopefully Halo3 will do just that.

the released games havent added much in terms of gameplay. enemy AI that actually effects how play does exist, but it certainly isnt the standard(nods to half-life2). but really new fps's nowadays dont bring much of anything new to the table. im curious what you guys think is so different.

Because you put the father of philosophy in the same category as an expensive piece of consumer electronics and a talentless singer whose popularity is more due to her "sex appeal" (an idea which is in itself laughable) than any insight the words she sings provide. If you don't like people commenting on your sig, you shouldn't put it out in the open for people with minds to see and react to.

FarCry brought open-ended gameplay. F.E.A.R brought AI that made each fight fresh and enjoyable. These are the most recent that come to mind.

why do so many people hate the First Person Shooter genre.. is it because it's the most popular genre? Every year there's innovative shooters that come out.. Like this year there's BioShock,Crysis, and many more shooters.

FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS!! seriously. i like playing them just to pick up and play every now and then, but in its core design, its basically the same game since doom. youre basically running, gunning, changing weapons, repeat.

grand theft auto had open ended gameplay before farcry. and there are few games with AI like fear. it was more like a lone gem than a new standard.

i have to say that fighting game has change up a bit over the year, thanks to the "smash brothers" series. i wouldnt say smash brothers made fighting genre innovative, but i would say it actually made the genre enjoyable again. IMO

GTA was a sandbox game. FarCry is in the shooter genre where they are generally linear (e.g FEAR).

It's hard to innovate a game where all you do is try to beat the crap out of each other.  I mean, fighters dont even have stories most of the time.

[QUOTE="LoG-Sacrament"][QUOTE="baddog121390"][QUOTE="LoG-Sacrament"][QUOTE="kcpp2b"][QUOTE="baddog121390"][QUOTE="LoG-Sacrament"]fps. they havent really changed much at all. baddog121390
They're changing all the time. Bioshock, STLAKER, and Crysis are all easily different than any other FPS games out there.

Valve alone has redefined the genre and I think it's one of the most innovative actually

the released games havent added much in terms of gameplay. enemy AI that actually effects how play does exist, but it certainly isnt the standard(nods to half-life2). but really new fps's nowadays dont bring much of anything new to the table. im curious what you guys think is so different.

FarCry brought open-ended gameplay. F.E.A.R brought AI that made each fight fresh and enjoyable. These are the most recent that come to mind.

grand theft auto had open ended gameplay before farcry. and there are few games with AI like fear. it was more like a lone gem than a new standard.

GTA was a sandbox game. FarCry is in the shooter genre where they are generally linear (e.g FEAR).

who cant call it innovation when all they did was rip off gta.

[QUOTE="Socrates88"][QUOTE="ZebethOrZebes"][QUOTE="Socrates88"][QUOTE="ZebethOrZebes"] Because you put the father of philosophy in the same category as an expensive piece of consumer electronics and a talentless singer whose popularity is more due to her "sex appeal" (an idea which is in itself laughable) than any insight the words she sings provide. If you don't like people commenting on your sig, you shouldn't put it out in the open for people with minds to see and react to.

My sig is not for being commenting on. My sig represent who I am. I think like Socrates. Play the PS3. And Nelly Furtado can sing. You such a hater. You getting off topic. Actually this is one of the rare topics I care about. I don't like when people see fighters as not innovative.

If you truly thought like Socrates, you'd know that everything is for being commented on. And Nelly Furtado can sing, if by "can sing" you mean "can sound like a dying cat".

Socrates believed everything was to be question, but has anyone ever question his name? Think of my sig as my name.

So your name is "2 people born thousands of years apart and a home electronics product have something in common"? Socrates did not choose his name, but you chose to put that opinion in your sig. If Socrates chose his name, and it made a contentious point, I would question it too. However, I don't know enough about Ancient Greek to know what "Socrates" means, and there's a good chance he didn't choose his name himself.

[QUOTE="Socrates88"][QUOTE="Huxley_00"][QUOTE="Socrates88"][QUOTE="Huxley_00"][QUOTE="Socrates88"][QUOTE="Huxley_00"]why do so many people hate the First Person Shooter genre.. is it because it's the most popular genre? Every year there's innovative shooters that come out.. Like this year there's BioShock,Crysis, and many more shooters.

For you to say FPS is innovative and say fighters isn't, is a slap to gamers face.

LOL? there's NOTHING different from the 2b fighters to the fighters now.. shooters evolve and innovate as the technology gets better.., AI,Online, physics ext..

So you saying that Street Fighter 2 is the same as Street Fighter 3? or Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is the same as Capcom vs. SNK 2?

not the same.. just nothing new.. nothing that makes you go "wow" i've never seen that before..

wow =/= innovation You fail to realize that. Come back when you do.

uhh.. no..
