there's not enough blood and you should beable to shoot their head/legs/arms off and stuff plus gib them with explosives...the weapons just dont feel to do any real damage or anything i dunno something feels weird with it.
they need some more interesting weapons....like a rocket launcher/flame thrower/machete < chop em in half.
when you melee them it feels like you arent even actually hitting the zombie.

Where does one get a flamethrower or rocket launcher realistically? Hell, even a machete is far fetched. If you were watching the previews, you would know they wanted the the weapons to make sense. Those weapons could be fund a well populated city, but what you said couldn't realistically be found anywhere.
From the watching the gameplay video, all weapons function perfectly.

ummm it's a video game....zombies are real?
i been playing fps all my life...when you melee them it feels like your gun isnt even actually contacting the polygonal charcter model...but a hitbox acouple inches away from body.
they need more intresting weapons and stuff fix hit detection....alot for soldier of fortune type dismemberment.

Its devoloper's choice, they wanted realistic weapons, one you would find in a such a crisis. Yes, we know zombies don't exist, obviously, it doesn't mean that they didn't have to have some realism to the game. Handguns, SMGs, Shotguns, Assault rifles are all weapons you could find more so than a Flamethrower or a rocket launcher. How does one fire a rocket launcher a close up fast target with such a splash damage weapon, anyways? The melee seems fine to me,its Valve afterall, the melee works in other FPSs of theirs.

yea uzi's are found everywhere BS.
plus you could make ur own flamethrower can of spray paint/lighter cough blood cough many other ways also ...who the hell doesnt have a machete? i do...how about a hammer?
a baseball bat?
yea....grenades are found everywhere.....
A crude designed flamethrower like that wouldn't stop a fast moving zombie like that, especially in swarms. Burning or inciderating would have little or no effect as a defensive shield against an onslaught of quick humanoids of that type. Hammer would work better, but in the sheer number would easily overwhelm you. Bat could work, but definately with a group of zombies, it would be very ineffective state. I already had a long discussion just recently on this.
Anyways, I was speaking weapon choice wise, I knew you would bring grenades, they did try to keep it as realistic as possible, but most of the grenades are possible anyways, like the Moltok Cocktale for example.
So if zombies attacked right now would a normal person have a HUGE variety of weapons to choose from? No? It's not Halo, appretiate it for what it is.
imo, the game looks like a 1999 shooter with an upgraded coat of paint (still could look better)....i seriously dislike the fast pace gunning, just looks unnatural. SonysHomy
You probably wouldn't be saying that if it was also on PS3.
L4D gets a lot of hate from cows.

if it were on PS3, i would be saying the exact same thing. Me prefering a certain console, doesn't mean i like ALL ITS GAMES.
common sense FTW.
Any problems ppl have will be fixed in the pc version, it will be modded to hell and back with maps, weapons, skins, sounds, amount of players per game, etc.
PC version FTW\
360 is just bound to dissappoint just like tf2

lol i have the user for laughs...love to see the worst of people sometimes, like the guy above...i do prefer the PS3, though.
From what ive seen the game has nothing going for it other than on-the-fly difficulty adjustment. I hope the story is a lot deeper than just "shoot the zombies".TheGrat1What about the Developer ???

Is it too much to expect a good story from a game that gets a lot of praise? There may be details I am ignorant of but so far its just "shoot the zombies" which has been done to death.

Kind of like WW2 shooters, right?

Do you own the Orange Box ???From what ive seen the game has nothing going for it other than on-the-fly difficulty adjustment. I hope the story is a lot deeper than just "shoot the zombies".TheGrat1
The 'on the fly difficulty' is the A.I director, it basically calculates where the zombies come from and how many there are, so the game has increased replay value. L4D is primarily a multiplayer game, you have to stick with your team to survive and help each other out, that's what the developer has been hyping up. They are attempting to make an intense co-operative experience, and from video's it looks like they've succeeded in that regard, but I won't expect a deep story, considering it's multiplayer based.

Its a stereotypical hollywood zombie action movie intentionally, if your hoping for some wacky japanese zombie story like Resident Evil then your setting yourself up for dissapointment.
Its all about the online, the co-op and the hollywood cliches. Just like pretty much every world war shooter.

Is this supposed to be a slight on Resistance? Judging from your earlier comment I think it is. If you have played the game you would know thats its story and campaign length are above average for and FPS this gen. And its not a WWII shooter, its alternate history. Go look up Resistance: Twisted History, to get an idea on the kind of depth Insomniac has given this story.

I know, and I have praised that aspect of it. I'm just the kind of guy that needs good story to really get into a game.
